disabling tv shut off while driving

I have a 2002 u270-34'. The audit monitor is toast. The computer still works. I can get the tank levels and back up camera to show a picture on the TV with some patch cords.
I would like to be able to drive with the picture on the TV. I know there has been a discussion concerning disabling the shut off feature on the TV outlet when the ignition is on, but I am having trouble getting into the archives on this new site.
Can some one please tell me how to disable the turn off feature or direct me where to find the previous discussion on the subject.
Thanks,

I always wondered if you can look at a rear view monitor for backup camera or GPS & it is legal.
How does that differ routing it to the TV & looking at it or the DW looking at it?
Would that be illegal and why? Both are monitors.

I agree, Barry.  Doesn't make sense, except that some would be so involved in a TV show that they would forget they were driving.

I would like to be able search/program the GPS while driving in the coach and car.  I know that there is a way to disable settings---can you tell me ?

Thanks,

I not sure what you mean.
What settings? Coach & car?
Are we still talking about the TV disabled?

Barry, Sorry if I did not make myself clear.  I was referring to the navigation system--I would like to be able to program it while Jerry is driving.  Car and coach.  I have a friend that did it, but never got around to having him "fix" ours.

I don't think I have that answer.
I don't know what navigation system you have.
I have an Alpine & is the only one I have experience with.

Maybe this question answers my question.  I was wondering what the box was on the outlet by the TV.  It had a couple wires running to it so perhaps the TV was hooked into it and that was how it was controlled.  If so, it would just be a matter of unplugging that box and plugging directly into the outlet.

That should be all that is necessary
