What year coach do you have?
You have to modify the wiring to to this.
Factory will not modify it for safety reasons but you can do it.
Modify outside air step wiring to allow step to retract when ignition is off...

You are right Barry. It took me a little over an hour to do the job and less than $5 dollars. Not bad for a first time installation. Thanks again, Irwin.

Don't you love it when you can fix something for $5.00.

Barry, does the approach you desribe work on an '04 model?    I have been trying to do what you suggest but keep running into trouble.  Do you put a fuse inline with the 12 volts to the door switch?  If so, what amperage?
Thanks

From Page
http://www.beamalarm.com/Documents/modify_outside_kwikee_step_wiring.html

"10. Install the 30-amp, in-line fuse on the power lead as close to the battery as possible. Cut the lead in two and butt connect the in-line fuse into place. See Figure 1. "

Barry - sorry I wasn't clear - I am asking about the air step - the C11 wire change.    Every time I put 12 v as you describe it I bust the in-line fuse I use - what size fuse should I be using?

Also, where do you splice in the switch?    In my coach, there are 2 green wires going to the door switch - both very short  - just long enough to get to the switch with no extra -- and I haven't found where they run as they go under the coach.

Thanks again.
