How replace nuts holding front cover on PowerTech generator

A few of the nuts that hold the front cover on my PowerTech generator have come loose - they appear to be spot welded to the inside of the cover frame so that bolts can be attached from the front through the cover.  Is there any easy way of getting them attached again?

Thanks

I'm not familiar with what you're talking about, but maybe this product will be of help.  I've never used it, but it looks intriguing.

Larry,
As you noticed, the 1/4X20 nuts were tack welded into the framework, If I had the problem I would use what is called Rivnut.
Rivnuts are a rivet with what ever thread you need, in this case a 1/4X20, very common size.

They are installed by pushing thru the hole and squeezing the installer handles, much like a rivet puller.  Not hard if you
get the aluminum type, they do a nice job, and I use them alot for installations of many electrical boxes etc.

You will need the rivet puller and a box of the rivnuts, not expensive and would guess they are available from WW Granger.
