'94 U300 Speedometer

I have a 1994 U300 GV - 6V92 Detroit. Occasionally when I start up to move the Speedometer does not engage.  It does not register speed or miles.    It's easy to notice so I immediately shut down and restart the engine and it will begin to work properly. What could the problem be?

Mine does that occasionally. Could R&R the connections to see if that does any good. Probably a dirty connection but the VDO speedo guys in the know are North Hollywood Speedometer at: http://www.nhspeedometer.com/    I used them several times a month back in the 70's-80's with excellent service and advise.

I installed a new VDO in '93 U300. Could not get it to work. Call Guru James @ foretravel and got the pulses per minute for thr U300. Then it worked great foe the last 10681 miles.

I have a new electronic VDO Spedo in my New 2 Me 93, U300 for 20,331 miles. It works great too.
