Bed Hinge Repair Modification

I was lifting my bed to to check some wiring and as I did the bed lunged out at me. :o ???
It scared my wife as we did not immediately know what happened.

The screws on the piano hinge at the head of the bed tore away due to the force of the gas struts pushing forward and the fact that the screws were right at the edge of the plywood.

I removed the mattress so I could remove the gas struts and lay the plywood back in place. It looked like the piano hinge was going to need some help. So I made this modification. ::)

Attacked by the bed! What next!  Suppose I should check mine.  Looks like a good repair, did you do that on both sides of the hinge or just the side that came loose?

The other side looked like it was holding. I will probably do the same on that side at a later date.

Very innovative, Barry.  And a nice job of documenting your solution.  Thanks.
