Single Slide will not extend

Newbie with a 2000 40' U320 with single slide.  Had a problem the third night after I bought the coach and a call to the FOT emergency number revealed possible low hydraulic fluid and that proved to be the case (previous post), but after adding fluid the slide extended and the red light came on.  New problem now.  After I got back to NM, the coach sat for about two weeks with slide out. I started the coach, retracted slide and drove it to New Mexico DMV office to register it. On returning home, parked, set parking brake, used the HWH leveling system, and after it finished leveling I turned the key switch to activate the slide extnsion system.  I could hear the seal deflating, the yellow light eventually illuminated and I visually confirmed the seal had deflated. I then pushed and held the rocker switch to extend the the slide and nothing happend - no noise, no action, zilch.  Subsequent inspection in the bay shows some evidence of a hydraulic leak.  Could the pump system fail to activate due to low fluid, or does anyone have any suggestions?

Never had the oil leaking issue, but while at Camp Foretravel, my slide would not retract, MOT sent man with hammer, he beat on the pump motor and presto the pump came alive and it worked fine.  Had new pump and motor installed.
All light indicator worked but nothing else until the hammer fix. :)
Like you said, nothing, no clicking, no moaning, no nothing, why I called MOT and rescued by the hammer.
Not sure how that fits your situation, but good luck.

Dan,

You can call HWH  (CST zone). 800-321-3494 I don't want to spend your money needlessly, but it sounds to me like your pump might have died. Ours did in March.  We paid to have an RV dealer in Phoenix to make the repair, but if you are handy you can probably do it yourself.

Our "clue" was a pump that sounded like two marbles in a tobacco can.  But we had lots of warning.  Your problem could be different.  I would certainly call HWH in Moscow, Iowa.

We have the same coach.  I love the coach, but hate the slide.  Wife loves the coach and the slide.

Watch for water leaks in a heavy rain with slide out. We no longer leave our slide out in rain.

But don't get discouraged.  After nearly 11 years stuff is gonna wear out and SOB that are 11 years old probably have the wheels falling off.  Big grin.

George,

Are you talking about the HWH aux compressor or the hydraulic pump?  Sounds like Dan's issue is hydraulics.

Leak aside, probably worth checking power to the hydraulics that operate the slide and trace back to a 12V fuse or breaker if there's no power.  I think John Sichenze might have some insight into where slide room fuses are for that generation slide mechanism.  And of course, James Triana at the factory.
