Day light seen on sides of slide when closed

Parked the coach a month ago. Checked on it today and saw, for the first time, day light along the sides of the slide when closed. Never noticed it before when stored and I'm sure I would have.
The power switch at the door was off as usual.
So the question is do I have a problem with the bladder, the auxiliary compressor or ?
I hoping for a "cheap" answer.

If you have the 12vdc power off at the door and your bladder called for air I dont think your aux compressor would come on to fill it.
I think the power for the 12vdc aux compressor is turned off at the door switch.

That still does not tell you WHY the bladder was low and needed air !!
You need to check the bladder for a leak, just in case.
Use soapy water.

Barry, I'm taking the coach out of storage on Sunday for a trip planned following Thanksgiving. I'll see if the bladder inflates and check with soapy water for leak/s.
The next question is, can I still open the slide and use it if the bladder will not hold air, or would it be best to leave it closed until fixed?

You would still exhaust the air in it before you open it as usual.
Then when you turn the key to fill it , it might leak out.
But there should be no harm in using it.
If you hear the aux compressor coming on more often than that is a clue you have a leak.

For what it's worth --- In a similar situation, the shop I chose to address this for me was 300 miles away, with an appointment one week away, and a weather forecast of daily rain.  If rain is a potential factor for you, you might consider this.

To keep water from entering through the opening around the slide, I applied clear packing tape, about 4 inches wide, all the way around the closed slide.  It worked to keep out the rain, and it stayed intact during the ride.  However, when I removed the tape, the residual adhesive on the fiberglass finish was stubborn.  What it took to remove it was a lot of rubbing with Goo Gone on a soft cloth.  Followed it up with a thorough washing, and then an application of Gel Coat Micro-Polish and Sealant.  Don't know if any other process would have been easier, but this one ended with a good result.

Bob, thanks for the tip re:packaging tape. After reading your reply I got my tape out to throw in the coach. I think I'll leave it there just in case I do need it now, or in the future.

 3M has a somewhat new painter's tape called Frog Tape.  This is what I would use because you will not have the issue of residue to deal with. Paint stores, Lowe's and Home Depot carry it.
 
Hope you don't have to use any kind of tape.

The glue from duct tape seems to succumb to "Goo Gone" better than clear packing tape - plus the shorter time you leave it on, the easier it is to remove and the less glue stays on coach.  Not quite as pretty though.....

Tom, well now that I have such a choice of tapes to chose from, if it comes to that, I also know what I'd use to remove the adhesive. "Goof off" has always worked for me. Although you can get a buzz if your not in a well ventilated area.
