I wonder how many of the older coaches are still around and how many were built in the earlier years (without guessing). ::)
I am trying to finish up a few projects and I am looking for Coach Build numbers on any coach:
1988 or earlier
1989 or earlier
1990  Build Numbers between 3497 - 3755
1991  Build Numbers between 3756 - 3959
1992  Build Numbers between 3960 - 4170
1993  Build Numbers between 4171 - 4389
1994  Build Numbers between 4390 - 4593

Just a reminder of the purpose of this thread - to collect info on the older coaches.

What do Coach Builder Numbers indicate?

My understanding is that they simply indicate the sequence of building the coaches. In other words, the first coach Foretravel built would have been 0001, the next 0002, etc..

@Skinnywater

The "model number" under the VIN number on the ID plate shows: Year - Build Number - Length - Floorplan - Model - Engine, etc. Foretravel Model Code

Example: F 03 6024 4023 AGDS U320T E31

03 = Year
6024 = Coach Build Unit #
4023 = Internal Designations
AGDS = Floorplan
U320T = Chassis
E31 = Internal Engine Designations

The build number is the sequential number assigned to your coach when it is manufactured.  Each coach has a unique identifying number.  The number for "your" coach tells you (roughly) how many total units were built before yours came down the line.  Model, year and build number are helpful to have in your signature especially when asking technical questions.  It's also useful to have that info handy when calling FOT for help.

We met this nice couple at Q with a 1987 32' Front Engine Diesel with MC# 4169. They had this coach for many years and a Travco before that for 20 years. Held several officer positions and knew most of the old timers that are left in the MC Club.

I know this thread goes back over the last 5 years but was wondering if anyone has accumulated this information and made it available to the forum members.  Before we owned our Foretravel, we owned a Barth Regency.  The history of the Barth and Foretravel  companies have a lot of historical similarities.  Barth closed the doors in 1997 and with the closing all of the support we can still get from FOT was gone FOREVER.

But back to the point,  I started a project to collect all the information I could on the Barth models over the years.  The Barth has a Data Tag much like our Foretravels.  We began collecting those tags and included a data base of them on the Barthmobile.com website.  I found the information interesting and very useful.  Being able to contact other owners that may have your same model  coach, floor plan, engine,  transmission, or other major component made troubleshooting often much easier.

I will try to make a link to the Barth data base for your review but I am not the most computer wizard on the block.

No offense taken Michelle! ^.^d  Perhaps 'politically correct' was not the right term but a better one escaped me at the time. I should have said something like "I ran afoul of the law", or "I got crossed up sideways with the forum boss", etc, so my attempt at being humorous did not fly very well in retrospect. I will try to be more circumspect in the future! ;D

Barry,

Long time stalker, and impatient future buyer of a used FT. I've been following this forum for a while and getting better at easing my future diesel purchase (only worked on gas engines before  :o ). Next few weeks hoping to be driving my own.

    I see a lot of numbers here. Are you planning on making a database for future users to see? If so, I have a few additional Model #s for you. These are from my recent search for a new (to me) FT:
G 91 3936 36 SBID U240 250
G 93 4197 36 SBID O22C E13
G 93 4326 40 WTBS U300W E11
G 94 4480 36 SBID U280W E17
G 94 4593 36 WTBI U240 E20
G 95 4646 40 WTBI U300W E18 (This is my #1 Choice, $25K)
F 95 4740 40 WTBS U320C E24
F 98 5360 36 WTFE U270C E25

What I would like to see is an engine code chart. I really have to strain to find out the E18 is a CAT 3176 and a E11 is a DD6V92.

I also contacted FOT about information on build #4646, but no answer just yet.

Thanks!
