303 Protectant on air bladder

I want to apply Aerospace 303 Protectant to the slide bladder.  Which will give me better access to the bladder (deflated, of course):?

Slide in  (or)

Slide out

George, I would say just try it but I do not know if you are suppose to put anything on it. As to in or out. if it is out the awning cover will prevent you from reaching the top if it is in you should have an easier time I would think.  But then again, I have never put anything on my bladder yet.

Hi George. I'm thinking that access will not change, slide in or slide out.  The narrow gap between sidewall of coach and sidewall of slide remains constant, and bladder is in a fixed position in either case, kept in place by some adhesive to keep it from twisting. 

Only time I have seen a bladder exposed is when it is being replaced.  In that case, accessing the bladder from the outside required that the entire interior bulkhead of slide be removed, so that that slide could be manually pushed inside the coach a few inches.  Big job, and required more than one person to move it in, and then back to its intended position.

I don't think you could coat entire bladder with protectant, even with aerosol and spray tube.  And I have no idea about whether the protectant would positively affect bladder material or function, or negatively affect the the adhesive.  I think I'd leave it alone.

Wise choice George. These so called polymer protectants can adversely affect the plasticizers in synthetic rubber. I believe that the bladder is synthetic. If you do use the 303, use as sparingly as possible to reduce any film build otherwise it might become gummy over time.

HWH replied to my query.  Here is their response:

Mr. Stoltz,

I am not familiar with the 303 Protectant, however we do not recommend any materials to be used on our air seals.  Our air seals are neoprene material.

You would think that someone who works on motorhomes and RVs would have heard of 303. Keep in mind that HWH is in Moscow. :)
