Fibreglass delam repair procedure

Hi All,

A recent blowout on my inboard RR tire blew apart the wheel well eyebrow panel and caused a 18-20 inch wide semicircular deamination in the body sidewall above the center of the wheel well - although no apparent damage to the fibreglass. I've just received the new eyebrow panel but am receiving conflicting information (from trusted & reliable sources) regarding the proper repair procedure to solve the delamination problem. I've got a request in to James Triana but haven't received a response yet.  Has anyone else dealt with this type of repair ?

Hi John,

Wow, sure glad it was the inside tire.

Where are you presently located?

Jon,

The place, I mean THE PLACE, to get this repaired is at Xtreme Paint and Graphics with James Stallings.  He can fix it better than new and has done so many times.

Call James at 936.560.5888 between 8 am and 5 pm Mon to Fri and you will get immediate help.

Jon,

If you can not get to Xtreme, call James and he can send you the fender skirt to fit and match your coach for a shop or even yourself to install.

I understand the skirt is held on by screws which you may certainly be able to handle once you get the part.  Again, James can tell you the best solution that fits your situation.

Later today,

Well, I just looked at the picture again and finally noticed the damage to the sidewall.  So I am back to suggesting you strive to get to Xtreme.  No one does it better.

Hope it works for you.

If you did not have the delam issue I think you could get the fiberglass done at a well-known motorhome repair facility.

But with delam, I'd lean toward going to Xtreme.  They are very, very good.  We've used them for a sidewall delam issue and other fiberglass repairs.  None are better.
