Joining a Chapter Rally when it's not your chapter?

I was perusing the 2011 Motorcade events listed on the website and saw a couple of chapter rallies besides our chapter's that looked interesting, like the Central Plains one at Ozark RV Resort in May.

What is the protocol for such a rally?  Do you have to be a chapter member and if so, do you pay the dues to the main MC office or to the chapter?

You belong to your 'home area' chapter. You are free to contact other chapters and attend their rallies. You pay the same price as they do.

You do not have to be a member of that chapter to attend any Chapter event if you are a motorcader.  I went to the 4 corners rally in Oct.

Barry is correct, you do not have to belong to that chapter as all are welcome if they are motorcade members in good standing and have their numbers on the coach.  I m in the  mid atlantic chapter and was president for a number of years. I also belong to the North Atlantic and pay due to both chapters but can attend any chapters rally if they have room for us that is.

It would best if you made contact with either the president of the chapter, or the wagon master of the rally. You will always be welcome and there usually is room for one more. But, , , Many times they have to make reservations for special events or camp sites. Katie and I attended a lot of "other"chapter rallies in nearly 9 yrs of traveling. Christmas in Fl. Christmas in So. Ca. Christmas in No. Ca. Local culture, wine tasting, hot air balloons, tours of museums, historic houses, ect, AND food, food, and more food. From East to West,I now have many friends and much more important to me, ,, Lots of memories. All of you who read this and know me will understand what I mean. When we were planning a trip, we would always check chapter activities along our route. Sometimes expediting or delaying or veering left or right to be at a rally at the right time. The most important thing is, we were never disappointed.I encourage all motorcade members to do the same thing. It makes our club better and our Foretravel family stronger. And you are making memories.
