brake lights on 1990 grand villa

I can pop out the brake light covers but how do you keep the light sockets or get at them so you can change them. Thanks John Gilbraitte

They are a bit difficult to get at if they are like the ones on our 1993 225. I had to approach them from underneath and from the side as illustrated in these photos. Look upon it as a good opportunity to paint the cover up all purdy and seal it with modest amount of silicone.
