Everpure Water Filter Under Kitchen Sink

When should this water filter be changed?

1)  At a certain interval, (or)

2)  When it substantially slows  the flow of water

Where is a good source for the filter?

The Everpure ADC filter is good for 750 gallons, so estimate how much you've used it and go by that if you're fulltiming (which I know you and Sandy are  ;)).

Since we only part time, we replace ours after any significant period of non-use (which usually means annually).

Here's one source

Let's see.  If Anne and I drink our doctor's recommended half gallon of water a day, that works out to every two years. That's about equivalent towhat our full-timing replacement schedule based on flow rate.

Really...For the number of days Beth & I camp, we'd likely be better off buying bottled water for drinking, coffee brewing and cooking...but, like I said once before, we try not to drink too much of the clear stuff and our cooking liquids of preference are wine or beer...that just leaves coffee brewing & lemonade... ;D

George,
I had the same question when we started full timing. I observed, following replacement, that the flow/pressure dropped off dramatically after a three month period of time, due to sediment. I tested the water quality and found that the carbon was still active, no chlorine present. I also tested the tap water which showed chlorine was present. So rather than replacing these expensive cartridges I installed a 2 gallon bladder tank under the sink. This allowed the filter to remain in service and supplied all the filtered water I needed at a reasonable pressure/flow rate.  I change my filter on a yearly basis.

All the water coming into our coach passes through a sediment filter removing that task from the Everpure.

I tend to use the reduced flow indicator of when to change the filter.  They are expensive for what they are, and I run most of my water through whole-house filters (sediment and charcoal) before it enters the rig.  The only exception is that I use tap water without filtering when filling the tank at home, but only when it will be sitting for a few weeks unused (to retain the chlorine).

I've had good luck buying these filters on eBay in the past, but you have to wait and watch for good deals.  If you need one right away, Camping World often has the best price (or close enough).
