Another fire hazard to consider

Flammable material in the engine compartment is probably a hazard.

I moved the coach into the driveway night before last. We packed up and spent the night in the coach last night. (We spend the night in the driveway to help figure out what we forgot to pack.) Today as I was making more preparations for departure, I saw the wren slip up under the door to the engine compartment. This view is looking down from the bedroom.

No eggs, no babies. Trip is on. Fire hazard was removed. Wren must make other arrangements.

We are enjoying fine "in coach" dining in the parking lot of Walmart in Ardmore, OK. If all goes well, it will be dinner with the grandchildren near KC, MO, tomorrow night.

I had a nest in my tahoe last spring.  I was driving down the road and did not know it.  I started by seeing smoke come in the dash vents and stuff falling out under the truck that was on fire and then I lost my brakes.  It was ugly but I got stopped and the fire out.  It was about 1300 buck in damage. I check now every morning all spring and removed 5 of them a week for 4 weeks.  Stubborn birds...

Yuck! I should check every time we get ready to roll. Thanks for the warning. The wrens and cardinals around here will build nests quickly anywhere. Life in the country is indeed fine and LIVELY! (In a very different way than the big city from which we "escaped" in 2006.)

Give the bird brains some credit. At least they have the good taste to build their nests in a Foretravel and not some other brand. (altho, now that I think about it maybe some competitors are training these birds to sabotage our coaches.)
