HWH parts availability concerns

Last month we overheard about a 12 week lead time for a slide bladder (apparently HWH got a bad batch of material).  Today we learned that the level sensor we ordered 3 weeks ago isn't available because HWH has "no parts to build one".  :o  I know our '03 has something different (not the "spider" the older coaches use).  Wonder if there's yet something different on newer coaches.

Lack of parts availability doesn't leave us feeling "warm and fuzzy".

Boy, Lack of warm & fuzzy feeling indeed.  I hope you can level manually.  I know HWH is an interesting outfit, I stoped by last summer and was amazed at the outfit, guess they have layed off a good part of the work force due to the lack of sales.
Good luck, I am hoping they make it for all of us.

We can level OK, even automatically, it's staying "in level" that's the problem.  Coach seems to want to "noodle" constantly when it "wakes up" to check and actually takes itself out of level  ???.  If we don't check the actual level status (make sure it hasn't thrown an "Excess Slope" light before pulling in the front slide), it'll come in biased to the rear of the opening.  Not what we want to happen considering we have a fairly new slide bladder.

MOT and HWH diagnosed it as a leveling sensor.  At the time, HWH didn't mention the parts supply issue to MOT.  Of course, it's not like we have an alternative.

This is going to be an issue for all of us. I saw that they are not running as many shifts when I was there and there must still be lingering issues as the MH market, while better is still a lot lower. Think FT who produced 300 coaches at one time did 50 or so on average the last few years.  Then you lost CC, Monaco, alfa and Travel Supreme too. I am sure I am forgetting a few.  The upshot is that the market went from 200,000 plus units a year to 30,000.  That is huge for the suppliers and I am sure we will see delays and guys going out of business and having to figure out how to repair things with new parts from another source.  Glad we have the factory that can pretty much do whatever we need as can MOT.

Time for someone to come up with an app that uses the extremely accurate level and gyro in an ipod to interface with the rest of the HWH system.  I wonder if the leveling sensor is as simple as mercury switches?  Anyone seen the insides of one?

Do that and you could retire in a Foretravel.
George Stoltz.  Retired from full-time living in a great Foretravel and now are back to living in a traditional sticks and bricks in Florida.
