exhaust system

Prior to my trip last year I had the coach in for service and tech advised that I have a lot of pinhole leaks in the exhaust system.  He asked if I was getting any fumes in the coach or if my detector had gone off.  When I said no he advised against dealing with it immediately as it would probably be necessary to replace all of it as it looked like trying to mess with it would open a can of worms.  Just wondering if anyone has had this done at a muffler shop like Midas or is this something a truck repair facility would have to handle?  Or is this more RV specific where I should go to Campingworld or Lazydays?  Perhaps Brett or someone else with an older 225 or 240 who has had this replaced could give me an idea of where to go and how much it should cost?

Can't help much-- ours is still original.

A truck muffler shop is probably your best bet. 

Check your muffler-- there will likely be a manufacturer and part number on it-- a good place to start.

Try calling a larger NAPA store with a truck section. If they can't help they can send you to someone who can. Tough times for a lot of mom and pop muffler shops so you may want to also include them in your phone list. I have called local bus companies and spoken to the shop foreman for help finding parts too.

I would get a second opinion and maybe even a third. I had my exhaust system on my 225 welded twice at the Cummins shop, mostly seam and pin hole type leaks. Within a year they reoccurred. I finally found a little muffler shop with a good welder that did a proper welding job. Properly welding exhaust systems requires a lot of experience and expertise. I will be surprised if yours can't be welded by a knowledgeable welder.

I did have the flex pipe between exhaust brake and the muffler replaced for under $200 but the solid pipes should be weldable.
