Need Help LED Puck lites Install

Just received the new LED lites from FOT, they have 10 LEDs per lamp, My problem is in mounting in the existing Puck light holder, they fit the electric pin arrangement, however they do not lay down into the reflector, when pushed up slightly, they turn off as if shorted out.
My question is if to remove the reflector as it is very little larger dia. than the actual LED round card. Yes they are very bright, no heat.

Anyone know if need to remove the reflector or how to get it into the housing ?

Dave,
We had to removed the reflector/heat sink to get the LEDs to work. On ours we had to remove the 3 screws that mount the fixture to be able to get to the backside where the tabs are, then with the biggest pair of needle nose pliers you can find you can squeeze the tabs together that are part of the reflector and push the reflector out the front side.

Many  thanks, That is about what I figured, Mike Grimes at FOT says no need to remove the reflector, I do not get it :)
I also have a spare, that I removed the reflector, and it works just fine, think need to mount a little spacer behind it to keep it from moving and close to the lens.  Oh well, I am playing. ;D

Dave,
We used a piece of "GARLOCK" (blue) sheet insulation as a backing plate. Started with shirt cardboard to get the proper size and thickness but wanted something that wasn't combustible. Holds the light snug up next to the lens and won't short out on the back of the LED.

I removed the reflectors on all mine by sticking a small screwdriver blade up in the slot and just popped it out .

My experience is limited to only three replacements. I did two in the house (the one without wheels) and one in the coach. In each case, I just popped out the reflector with a small screwdriver and put in the G4 LED replacement. I used no spacers or other modifications. After several months, all continue to work well.

The ones in the house are WAY better than the halogens that consistently overheated and failed. The one in the coach works well and is about the same color as the existing halogen bulbs. I want to replace more incandescent bulbs with warm colored LEDs.

I replaced all 29, halogen G4, gold surround, puck lights in my 1996 U320 with LED type, frosted glass lens, puck light fixtures. I removed the original fixtures and installed the replacement fixtures in the same holes. I had to extend the wires and the replacement fixtures are about 1/4 inch thicker than the original. These cool LED lights are not quite as bright as the halogens, which I found overly bright and overly "HOT". The halogens consumed 0.85 amps each (10 watt), while the replacements consume just 0.135 amps each. I purchased 30 of these in Quartzsite during the RV show while attending the "LEMON" gathering in the desert. I installed the extra LED fixture over the entry stairwell. I paid $18 for each fixture. I have about a dozen good gold surrounds which I will sell if there is any interest. I will attempt to post a picture.
