Dan, is it possibly just the little squirrel cage blower in that bay running? I think there's one mounted on the ceiling of the bay to keep it cooler and it's likely thermostatically operated so possibly fighting the "delightful" temperatures we're having here in Texas. You might try flipping the 12V disconnect by the entry to see if that shuts it off (just be sure the inverter is off, too, since it generates some heat).Michelle Quote Selected

That is good if the settings are appropriate for your batteries. The fan is likely to cycle or stay on, depending on ambient temperatures in the bay where the inverter/converter (charger) resides, and the condition of the batteries.On our 1997 U295, I leave the coach plugged in with the boost switch on to charge all the AGM batteries. The fan on the Heart 25 runs frequently, but not all the time. Quote Selected
Re: Inverter Fan Reply #9 – June 12, 2011, 12:30:15 pm well so far I am happy with my solar panels looking after the charging part (and providing 120v when needed) and do not have to think about inverter/charger fans or !. I have done what many of you have attended to and put the trickle charge unit on the coach and after a month away in Europe I came back and instead of having the usual slowish cranking at first, the engine fired up like it was started by a new battery (which it is ).I have ordered a POWER PULSE unit ($50) to put on the house batteries after a discussion with the Tech at Batterystuff in Oregon and he reckons it will add years to them (batteries) as it will look after any sulphation problems that the Prosine and solar controller do not. Hope it works that way !!I am adding a couple more 150w panels to the roof soon, now the sat' and winguard antenna have now gone, so will not be as dependant on shore power or gen-set as would otherwise be. I think one of the three cooling fans inside has a bushing that needs oil or needs to be replaced. Have any of you guys replaced the fans or had the unit apart? Do you know if Xantrex sales fans. Re: Inverter Fan Reply #11 – June 12, 2011, 11:17:09 pm We have a Xantrex 3.0 charger/inverter that has a fan (or fans) that come on about every 5 minutes or so and run for about a minute. Times vary with the outside temp. I was really paranoid about the fan noise last year (our first year with the coach) and actually turned off the charger at night and ran everything off the batteries. I was afraid something was going out since the fan seemed so noisy. The Xantrex 3.0 is no longer made and I can only imagine how much a replacement would cost. While we were at FOT in February I had an experienced tech listen to the fan and he thought it sounded 100% normal. So I have just let it run this year. Funny.... I don't "hear" it any more!Last year (when I was worried about it) I called Xantrex. The person I talked to said they do not service these units. I don't think they sell parts either, but I'm not sure of that. Quote Selected
