Hydraulic Oil Change with Filters

OK, Received the 3 new 84101B Fleetguard filters, and the new top rubber gasket ring kit (Top Cover) and assume the Rotella 15W-40 is the correct oil ?  Any other recommendations ?  We stock the Rotella 15W-40 in 5 gal buckets.  Have never changed it but think might be a good time at 75K miles and unknown history before 50K when purchased this 01 320.  Did the transmission change 2nd time with TranSynd.

Dave pretty much straight forward, drain, pull the filters put the cover back on, put about gal of fresh Rotella start briefly to flush. Drain, install new filters and gasket, fill system.

Mark the cover clamp before you take it apart so that it goes back together the same way.  It will go together the wrong way and then oil leaks out from under the top cap.

I got screwed by Encore on the filters and O Ring. As I had written previously about our Cummins dealer here not knowing his rear end from his brain I finally out of frustration (Wyatt was 1 day late in answering my e-mail about where to get them, not his fault) e-mailed Encore and they said they have them and can get them out that day. Parts guy said he would send me a cost and mailing before I decided (that never happened) so I sent my visa and address and then a day later I get this e-mail saying $84.00 had been put on my Visa !!!!! The filters are $15.00 each and the O ring $10.00 the rest for the us postal service. I should have waited a few more days till after this long weekend and got them from Ryder Fleet !

MOT put ours back together improperly. I have read about someone else experiencing the same issue at another service location. Each half of the clamp has a "big" end and a "little" end. If you mate big-big and little-little, the clamp will not pull the lid down enough to seal on the o-ring. The seal will leak under normal operation. If you mate big-little and big-little on the halves of the clamp, the o-ring will seal nicely.

This thread came along at just about the right time...
We started our summer excursion (and first trip other than to NAC) back around the first of June.  I found I had to clean the oil and grime off the hydraulic oil filter after each road segment. At first I decided that this was because of an old or distorted O-ring but didn't want to 'dive' into the repair until I had a replacement. I reread my MOT repair record and a new one had not been installed. Couldn't locate one in mid-Illinois as we were passing through.

Started looking again at the clamp - thought it was on Big-2-little but investigated more. Found that the clamp on one side had not been tightened enough. See picture.

I'm not sure it is completely sealed, I've have only had one driving day to test.

It is 60 degrees this morning in the middle of Wisc.
