Keith & Joyce would like to announce...

that we are the new parents of Jeff & Carol Savournin's coach.  The baby is doing well and has made it from NAC as far as Marion, Illinois without the slightest problem.  Tomorrow it will be home.  So folks we are no longer wannabes! =)

Congratulations! You got a beautiful coach and one that was very well taken care of. Jeff and Carol fixed everything that went wrong and only quit when they got to the tranny. Just kidding, Keith.

Do you guys live in Illinois?

Great coach //  I know James at Xtreme put a lot of extras into that coach.  It should be a great find.

wow, 800 miles and it didn't throw the tranny or blow up. Sure surprised me.... :D

Very nice couple of days spending with you going over everything with your new coach.  As I have said, any questions or anything I can help you with feel free to call or email..  Great to have you in the "family".

We are only strangers until we meet; however, some of us are stranger than others

Keith very kindly called us last evening to report on his maiden voyage ... and apart from some minor glitches (one involving the sewer hose, the other a gallon of milk!) he is sailing right along!  He has some choice epithets for the Illinois DOT regarding some construction and a bridge ... but we will let him tell his story in his own good time.  No paint was removed from the coach and the design is intact.  He really makes me laugh ... Sounds like he is having fun!

Welcome to the ForeForums and Foretravel ownership, Keith & Joyce!  We hope you are enjoying your new-to-you coach as much as we are enjoying our new-to-us coach (this past year and a half)!  It is our first coach (we previously owned an Airstream travel trailer, and a series of sailboats)... and--just like you all--we picked a winner with Foretravel!

PS  Glad to hear the sewer hose and milk incidents were minor, as Carol reported!

Keith & Joyce,

I am going to assume that you do live in Illinois so let me share our experiences with you and the Illinois EPA emissions testing program.  First.  Diesel pusher motorhome are exempt from testing, but they did not tell us that.  They sent us a notice, and like good citizens we showed up but barely got into the driveway with our 40 foot coach and darn near could not get out.  Once the guys at the facility saw that it was a motorhome they told us we were exempt and made a notation in their computer records so that we would never get another notice.  So when you get yours, don't ignore it; just go in and tell them the vehicle is a diesel motorhome and bring documentation unless you want to park at close by.

Thank you all for all the kind words of welcome and thanks for the heads up on our great states emissions program, George.

About our DoT.  Crossed over the Mississippi on I57 and came to a roadworks.  One lane on bridge open with less than 10' width clearance between concrete barriers.  (Yup, looked in mirrors and was dead center and was almost brushing stuff).  Coach is 8' 6".  No warnings, nothing.  2 miles or so later and same thing.  Later there were many signs warning of 12' 9" minimum width restriction ahead for miles.  If you made it through the first 2 that's kinda redundant.

Was a great trip.  Coach ran flawlessly,  started the generator for the air conditioning at 3pm Saturday and turned it off at 8pm Sunday.  Jeff and Carol were great hosts and adopted me.  We hope we can return the favor if they ever make it up here.
