Our "NEW" 1989 ORED 38' Grand Villa!

Well, I've been perusing the site for a couple weeks now after we purchased our first RV!  I have to say this board is a wealth of information and knowledge.  We're excited to start having some adventures and hope to meet some of you in the near future!  I'll be posting some questions on items I either can't find through searches or don't understand so be patient with a newbie.  If anyone lives in the greater Austin area and has some experience with the older FOTs, I'd love to meet up with you and pick your brain.  There is so much preventative maintenance (engine, chassis, plumbing, etc) that my head is starting to spin.  It would be nice to have someone with some experience with my model to ask questions of every so often and would be well paid in beers, wine, or whatever you like! ;-)

I hope you can find someone in your area.

I bought my coach from a Kent Speers and got to spend three nights and days getting info and small tidbits of info, all the time with a pen and paper in hand.  He was gracious to go over every thing he could think of bay by bay, and things hidden in compartments thru the coach.

Then I met Bill Chaplin when I got home and he has been in and around the coach, and explained even more things and is a great local source for info, suppliers and service shops.

The two of them, plus this board have been life savers and added so much to my getting up to speed and to the enjoyment of our coach.

I didn't tell Dave all of my secrets. I don't want Steve getting burned out helping others when I have plenty of work left to do.

Well, Kent did mention his shoulder as he was about to climb the ladder to install felt pads under the TV antenna.  They again when we were going to take off the battery cover, and come to think of it, a couple of other times.  So how long has he been "working" that shoulder?

Really trying to keep up with Steve's daily location, as we know we have bunches of things for him to "explain" to me.  Will just happen to be in the RV park when he come in.

Welcome!

As another newbie to Foretravels I can tell you one thing.  The designers of these coaches must have a competition to see who can hide the most switches on a coach.  You will love it!
