Accumulator Tank

Hay out there! I was working on my coach yesterday,I wanted to put a water Pressure gauge inline to check PSI, I have had water pressure problems since we bought the coach. I found when I went through the Aqua Hot I found there tempering valve was froze up so I replaced with a new one . The old one was restricted and corroded. So I tried taking a shower, much better before the shower valve was all to the hot side so I was only getting water from the hot side, low volume . Now the shower valve is straight up and down so now getting water from hot and cold lines ,much better. Now getting to the question, I put in a tee under the Jabasco accumulator tank for the gauge, but when I took out the tank it was full of dirty water the bladder was bad.
I kinda under stand what the tank does , Is it necessary? There is a Sureflow 5900 series water pump that is variable speed so will a new tank make a difference ? Thanks PS Here are some pictures of my Aqua Hot tempering valve , in case any one else is having problems, I showed Roger and he said he has never seen that before.

I removed the ruptured accumulator tank in April and put in a new AguaJet variable speed pump. Russell Lantier did the same thing on his 1999 coach. Both of us are happy. Neither of us have had a problem with the tank.

I still have the original pump and tank. Some folks have stated that a variable speed pump does not require the tank. Others have said that the variable speed pump has something like a lag at start up and that the tank still helps with that. Guess it depends on what one can live with.

It would appear that who ever had the coach before you bought it, lived with water with a lot of minerals in it.
My guess is, that your whole water system is probably a victim of "deposits".
Have you removed and cleaned all of your faucet screens? How about the shower head?
I usually clean my stuff with diluted Muriatic acid which works pretty good on a lot of the carbonates. Some people use CLR.
You might want to check and clean your water fill connection and the pressure limiter that may be behind it.
I use the accumulator tank and it works just fine with the original cheap water pump that came with the unit. I like to hear my water pump cycle, so I know when I have a leak. Some people don't like the noise.

Warm 5% vinegar works also. If you are going to use acid remember to put acid in the water, not the other way around.

In February, I was able to secure a Jabsco tank from Hopkins-Carter Marine Supply in Florida. Shipping was fast and installation uneventful. Even though I was in Yuma, AZ, it was still cheaper than ordering from LA.
