Old VCR Replacement

I'm going to replace the old VCR in our 89 GV with something a little more modern.  Have any of you done this recently?  Can't really find a nice blu-ray that'll fit in the space.  Needs to be about 12.5" wide or less and 11.5" deep or less.  I did see the new PS3's are small enough.  A little more that I wanted to spend, but I think I could make it work with an RF modulator.  Let me know if you know of another option!

We replaced the bedroom VCR and tube TV with an LCD TV and DVD player.  TV was from Best Buy, chosen because it was the right width.  DVD player was the cheap one from Walmart.  They fit in the opening with a nice friction fit, and I used some foam tape to  keep them from working loose.

I installed an inverter in the closet to power them.  We don't really watch too much TV when we travel.  We have probably watched TV ten or twelve hours in a total of ten months on the road.

Benjii, I don't know if your bedroom's TV setup is the same as a 36' but our TV and VCR are in a cabinet on the passenger side. The previous owner replaced the old analog TV with a 15" Dynex LCD unit from Best Buy. It fits very well and leaves lots of room under the screen for modifying for a DVD or Blu-ray. I have not done anything with the VCR as, being OFs we still have VCR tapes. Up front, above the driver's side, in the lift up cabinet I have a cheap Sony DVD player from W-M. It does the job and we only use it when we can't get reception on the Winegard or the Kingdome due to location or trees. No programming, just turn it on, insert disc and play. Oh, also has a remote.

I did that on this 295 and it is just a case of taking the panelling off and making the bracket fit the new size. Leads go in the same spots. No big deal.
