Hot Water Heater

This is probably a stupid question, but there has been so much talk on the forum about water heaters, etc.  Our coach is a 2003 designer all electric.  When I come off the road we have scalding hot water which lasts for maybe 10 hours.  Having no propane, do I have a hidden electric hot water heater or is it built into the aqua hot?  I found it is really not necessary to use the aqua hot for hot water as the aqua hot panel has a 115 VAC switch that always seems adequate.  If there is a hidden hot water tank somewhere, I have not found it.

Don't now your specific coach, but sounds like you have a motor-aid water heater.

With a motor-aid water heater, one of the coolant lines to the dash heater goes through the water heater so engine heat warms the water.

It's part of the Aqua Hot design.  AH fluid loop gets heated by the engine while driving.

Gregory,
If you happen to camp when it gets cool/cold outside, you'll need more than the electric for the aqua hot, hence the diesel switch.  If the outside temp gets to like 40 degrees and you run the furnace while showering you'll soon understand why you have the diesel switch.  Try it once.  That's all it'll take!

You should be running the A-H at least once a month on diesel to keep it operating correctly.  The same advice applies to the generator.

I do exercise the aqua hot as well as the generator, but have found that I usually don't need them.  I have been in colder climates when the aqua hot is needed and it does make a huge difference.
