RVI Brake for your "Toad"

Anyone, besides myself have experience with the new "RVI brake" system for your "Toad".  I did not have a tow vehicle braking system for my 07 Saturn Vue and it was not a good fit for the M&G system.  I saw this being advertised and demonstrated at the "Glass" rally in MI at a sale price of $ 950 (regular advertised price $1250)and ordered it.  It took a couple months to receive which was no problem and it seems to be working fine.  The only issue to date, after several short (less than 500 miles) trips is that it is a drain on the tow vehicle battery.  My battery is neither new or high capacity which may be part of the problem/solution.  Of course a 12 volt supply from the coach would certainly otherwise correct that issue.

I am interested in others who have this system or are considering its purchase.

There are various ways to fabricate a 12V supply from the coach.  The simplest being a wire between the coach and toad batteries with an auto reset breaker on each end.  If you want a commercial device that protects both ends there is a unit made by the Trik-L-Start folks called Toad-Charge that sells for about $109.00 that will keep the toad battery charged safely.

You can read about it at this site:  Toad-Charge

I don't know if Best Converter's price is the best available or not.
