Pigeon Forge

Looks like we might be heading to Pigeon Forge the end of Oct. with 10,000 of our closest friends.  Anyone from the forum heading in that direction?  If so, where abouts will you be staying?

Stayed at KOA just down the street from Dollywood last summer.  Tight spaces but has park next to it.  Ride the steam train at Dollywood and go to the oldies show.  Both great.

We were there just a few months back.  We stayed at the KOA.  It was fine except the internet really never worked.  The good thing about this park is that it borders Patriot Park which is the hub for all the trolleys.  You really don't need a car if you stay at the KOA.  Trolleys go up and down the strip stopping every few blocks.  Pigeon Forge is a tourist trap and traffic is a nightmare.  We liked Gatlinburg much better.  There is a trolley at Patriot Park that will take you to the Gatlinburg welcome center where you catch another one into Gatlinburg.  Don't miss the aquarium there.  There is a touristy place to eat right next to Patriot Park called the Old Mill.  Food was plentiful and not bad.  Dollywood IMO isn't that great but then again I'm from Tampa where, including Orlando, is the theme park capital of the world so others might like it a lot more.  We also did the Dolly Parton owned Dixie Stampede, which was expensive and touristy but worthwhile...again IMO.

Txforetravel,  The South Central MC Rally is at Sevierville October 6-7-and 8th.  If you are in the area you may want to come to this.  Contact Cecil Byers for info.
