Installed a parallel set of switches for the front MCD shades.  Now they can be operated as sun shades by both the navigator or the pilot while under way.

I drove by our coach, sitting in its storage slip and looked at it through the cool rain.  I imagined us and the dogs a thousand miles away,in Joshua Tree parked at Big Rocks.  The sun was just down, and we were cooking bratwurst over a pinion fire.  We watched the last of the color of the sky fade, and looked at the ghost-like shadows of the trees bouncing from rock to rock, as if they were visual echoes.

Joshua Tree may be my favorite place on earth.  I have been going there since I was a tot.  A few years ago, we went hiking at 9PM - the full moon illuminated our path over the light-colored rock.

Last year, we were caught in a sandstorm and I contracted pneumonia.  We had to stay in a hotel in Flagstaff for a couple of days until I was well enough to continue travel.  I STILL love the place.  Here in Texas, we are growing two Joshua Trees.  They are about ten inches tall and probably four years old.

If work and life were not intervening right now, I would head out tomorrow AM.

With Bill Chaplin's help and guidance I watch and helped him build one and then built another $2 dollar engine battery trickle charger.  5 minutes later is was installed and sharing power from the converter on the house batteries.

Bill just laughs at how easy things are to build, fix, modify and improve.

Finished replacing the cooling unit in the Dometic refrigerator. So far tonight, it's looking good. When I checked it with the IR thermometer, back of freezer compartment was -1F and fins in the refrigerator where generally around 39F. So far, so good.  :)

Thought it was time to exercise both the Power Tech and the Aqua Hot, so I turned off the electric heater on the Aqua Hot and turned on the Diesel Boiler, than turned off the 50 amp breaker to the coach, manually started the generator and ran all for 3 hours, Love that Aqua Hot, it makes such great heat, Thank you Rudy Leggett.  And of course the Power Tech ran flawlessly as usual.
After 3+ hours restored back to normal.

Picked up a new AD-9 Air Dryer, and was able to get the old one out of the special hidden spot.  And with the help of Bill Chaplin and another friend able to install the new one.  I keep looking in the rear entry behind the locked grill, for a diesel engine, hear it running in there, it must be back there.

And it is a shame not to have any storage under the queen bed, seems a good place to keep things.

Getting more comfortable with attacking projects.  Even replaced the door bell, and turned off the shop lights to enjoy the glowing button in the total darkness.  It was like the only star in the sky tonight.

The space under our bed is taken up by a big, spare engine. I am surprised the spare is so big. The engine in the front is so tiny. I don't understand how it makes the bus go so fast.  ;)

When and if I ever get another coach, it will not have a rear radiator.  I am not looking forward to working on any belt or bolt on parts that are on the end of the diesel at the back facing the charged air cooler.  What were they thinking when they installed rear radiators blocking everything?  The idea of laying on top of the engine to reach down to work just seems wrong.

I came very close yesterday to making a new access door under the taillight, or in the side of the coach at the clearance light at bay door hinge height to access the dryer location.  Then I would have had a trip to see James in Nac. for a clean up and door mod.

Dave when you replace the doorbell if it does not already have a fuse in line please put one in.  FT in KS Burned up due to a short in this circuit, a dollar fuse would have prevented it.
Just my opinion.

Will check to see it there is one, would think one is already in the system.

I was sort of pushed to make a dead button work by my warehouse buddy.  I pulled it out, and clamped the short wires with hemostats, and had a new button in the garage.  Did not realize the button would light up, neat feature since I am plugged in at the warehouse.  System works fine.  Got to wondering in my early hour waking up, is the system 12 volt, or 120?  I will have to explore and find out.  Now you got me worried.

JD, do not know if your 97  is same set up as my 2000 for rear side panels but I have found that it is so easy to remove side panels if you have to do some heavy/awkward work on engine or radiator etc rather than be a contortionist. I can have a panel off in 30 mins and then the whole thing is there in front of you-easy to work on.

I am not aware of any removable side panels on the 1997 U295. There is a radiator grill on one side and the air conditioner grill on the other. They are both held on with rivets. I don't think they have ever been pulled.

The only access appears to be via the big rear door, the hinged bed support, the chassis battery door, and the air cleaner/isolator panel door.

Dave, Doorbell is 12 volt.  Just find the hot wire in the cabinet where the doorbell is, clip the wire and butt connect in a fuse holder.
