What did you do to your coach today.

I had the thermal cutoff blow on the water heater, I installed a new thermal and an adjustable thermostat, the new thermostat cut the burn time on the heater buy a good 25%,you can lower the temp from 140+degrees to 120 or less, I also made and installed 2 new flush heads in the gray and black tanks. ^.^d ^.^d

Kent it took me all of 15 min. to change it, I had been wanting to make this change for a long time, when the thermal went out I said I will do both at the same time, boy am I glad I did, the thermostat come's set a level C, it was still to hot so I backed it down to B and then set it between A and B, for us that seems to be just peachy.

Nothing today, but yesterday Steve replaced the 2 quick connects on the check valve in the HWH bay that were leaking, found the check valve was frozen open and freed it (need to order replacement), replaced the Square D pressure switch (which wasn't shutting off like it should), and we identified that the solenoid controlled by the "air tank" switch wasn't closing properly (another part to order).  I think we now have the most external-air-leak-free HWH system of any FT in this park (we're the only one).

After that, like Horace and his wife, I did 3 loads of laundry: sheets, blanket, and the bedspread, plus ran the Splendide through the lint cleaning procedure.

Today all we did was hit Trader Joe's and Natural Grocers to stock up on items we can't get back home and to fill up any room in the freezer not already taken up by roasted Hatch green chiles.

Inspected the roof today and then covered the coach with a big tarp. First rain of the season tonight and our RV garage is at least a month away from completion. Getting ready for highway 395 and June Lake Loop next week. Greatest road in the U.S.

I thought I would take a minute and change out the Onan's (7.5 KW) air filter.  An hour later  :( I finally got the bolt aligned with the threaded hole (the canister faces away, towards the middle of the coach, so have to do it blindly) and got it tightened up.  Done for another 500 hours. :))

Replaced the original Moen Shower valve with a Moen pressure balancing temp and volume control valve.  No more screams from the shower when someone uses water in the kitchen or flushes the toilet!

New Moen valve - Moen 3570 - temp and volume control
Amazon.com: Moen 3570 M-PACT Moentrol 1/2-Inch CC Valve with Stops: Home

I got the valve version with solder-in 1/2" fittings to make the job of alignment with the lower outlet hole easier, but did take out all the valves before soldering to avoid possibility of overheating the o-rings.  You have to cut the plastic disk to match the hole (easy) and ease the wood cutout on one side to fit the new valve (also easy).  If you don't replace the brass trim piece on the shower side (I didn't), you have to drill new holes and blank off the old ones.  Also may want to drill new holes through the wall behind the trim piece to access the built-in shutoffs (optional.)

The hardest part of this project was trying to get the access panel out of the vanity cabinet.  Finally just scored and split it in the middle to get it out. Looks like the cabinet was installed after the shower plumbing but before the shower enclosure...

Replaced a plastic connector for one of the steps on roof ladder and the vent cover lift arm on the bathroom vent.  The manual lift arm assembly was mailed free in 2 days from Fantastic Fan after calling and describing what I needed, great service and product support!

We removed the water pump. Disassembled, cleaned the valves & seats, installed new internal o-ring, put it all back together. While it was out we added 2 isolation valves so we can remove the water pump next time without having to drained the fresh water tank.

Mike, When removing a water pump you don't need to drain the tank.  Use a 1/2 plug, quickly remove the inlet line to the pump and put the plug in the line.  You will lose some water but it may be preferable to draining the whole tank.

Gary,
Ours is in such a tight spot that even with the shelves out there isn't much space. The pump is hid under everything and behind a Aqua Hot radiator. With everything in the way we opted for valves so hopefully there won't be as much drama next time. (we have been using "00" rubber plugs) That is good info as some here may not know that a 1/2" pipe plug will plug off one of those PEX threaded fittings.

Last week I found a bunch of white tubing laying in the refer. outside access area.  So with a new hose in hand today we pulled out the refer and installed a new hose.  We did the job in about  40 minutes, just sliding it inside onto a ice chest platform with spacers for correct height, and full of the food out of the refer.  Found out the easy way to do the job after we finished.  I learned, had I known where the old broken off flush hose was, I could have done the job in 10 minutes from the outside standing.  Live and learn.

While disconnecting the 12 volt wiring, it touched metal and blew a fuse.  Well after an hour not finding the blown fuse, in the paper work, or in any panel I could find, I called the old owner, Kent Speers and he guided me to the correct panel.  Everything is good now.

Guess my next question is why no drip tray, or hole thru the outside wall for the drain tube?  I added a new drip tray and can still run the new hose outside when we defrost if the lower unit has lots of frost build up.  I found the end of the old hose complete with a bug screen.

Dolly replenished food, linens, and rum, used this past long weekend in east Texas, so we are good to go.

Last week I added a 600 watt inverter in the passenger foot area side wall, for "on the road computers" and Clear Wire Spot unit to connect to the internet.

I replaced my old B&W monitor with a newer one that Brad Bissonet gave me.  Works like a champ!  Now on to a new actuator for the HWH and an alternator adjustment.
