Watched 4 mechanics attack a very long list here at the mother ship....as usual, some easy, some not so and one or two will be budget busters.  Pulling the slide tomorrow. 8 hours labor to probably just replace  tape. Hopefully, the bladder is ok. HWH still behind on shipping bladders as FOT have non in stock...  If anyone need questions answered from someone here let me know and I will try to get the answer.  Only person I do not speak to is P.T.

Jeff & Carol,
After FOT get's the slide back into it's normal position, be sure that they align the HWH sensors for the "Level System" indicator.  We left and got about 1 1/2 hours down the road and the "Level System" indicator would come on and go off.  I talked to FOT emergency service and we all determined that the senor was slightly out of alignment.  We will see what happens when we pull the slide in next week and travel to see if we still have the issue.
Just food for thought!

I made 2 extension cord for DW, in our U270 there is an outlet in the cabinet over the microwave(I don't know about other models)and one next to the drivers set that is hard to get to,I had dome service cord's left over when I quit working, I made her a short cord to go over the microwave so when she want's to use the crock pot,all she has to do is pull down the cord, when done roll it up put the cord in the cabinet, the driver plug has a 6ft. cord so she can put her lamp on the dash, she is happy. ^.^d
The cords were made from service cords from commercial laundry equipment, with 15 amp cord caps. :)

Steve has instructions on aligning the sensors here on the board (if they're similar in your '02)

First. I washed the roof.  Then Sandy and I washed the rest of Moose. I wash and she rinses and I do my best to stay out of the way, but she does get a little wild with the hose every now and then.  Then I treated the tires with 303 protectant.

Michelle, thanks for posting the sensor re-alignment "how to".  I knew I had seen it someplace, i just could not find it.  If the alarm is bothersome, you can just disable the alarm!  The light still shows on the dash though.
We'll tackle this when we get home OR if we run back through NAC, FOT can do it.

Bill - my 96 270 also has a plug on the underneath side of the cabinet by the sofa.

Didn't do it today, but ran a wire from the inverter panel at the end of the bed around and put an outlet by the head of the bed so I too can have an alarm clock in the bedroom if I so choose (like those guys with the big fancy rigs) :))

Removed the 8D batteries and bought new ones, measured the carpeted area for laminate flooring replacement, made sure the engine hour gauge is working, measured sway bar end link bushings for replacement, and talked with vendor about sway bar bushings.

Installed a new rear driver's side hydraulic actuator on my kick down stands.  I haven't tested it yet, but really hoping I did it right!  :'(  Will bleed it sometime today or tomorrow.

Working conditions on the side of a country road and no way to remove the springs made it a little more interesting than I would like.  Anyone around Austin want to sell me 2-3 acres with a nice 2500+ sqft house and barn large enough to fit my RV?  A mechanics pit in the floor would be a bonus!  :P

Third day home from a 1,500 mile trip.  Finished winterizing using an air compressor and a fitting to connect to a water hose to blow out the plumbing lines this morning before it gets below 32 here in northern New Mexico.

We replaced our faucet with one almost exactly like that, but ours is a Kohler.  I had it in the stick house and loved it.  We also straightened out some small issues with our TVs, are working on the irritating "fading water pump" issue, replaced the cracked windshield, had the generator serviced, checked the air dryer, differential oil checked and filled, slide bladder replaced (what  project THAT is!!) latches on the closet doors so they stay closed, wiring repaired for blower motor in the dash, new arm on the auto patio awning, new pull down straps on all the other awnings and the vacuum pump tightened down for the Turbo Load 5000 Magnum Opus Toilet.  ALSO ... we have been having some "sticking" problems with the door latch that suddenly revealed itself to be the little black slidelock / deadbolt thingy.  the sudden part happened when I found myself locked INSIDE the coach and Jeff OUTSIDE the coach at 4:35pm ... when there were no mechanics left on the premises!  I called inside and explained to the receptionist that I needed technical assistance on what to do with my screwdriver as I began to disassemble the door from the inside.  Jeremy Rocha was on his way out when I got the cover off, which allowed the slide to go just a TAD farther to the right, which allowed the door to open.  The mechanics also took a look at that little item, because it was gonna be a looooong evening trying to get me OUT of a window or my husband IN!!  We could, however, have posted the event on Youtube.

I should also clarify that all of the things that "we" are doing to our coach are actually performed by Qualified Mechanics ... because we know our limitations and are here to represent the folks who proudly pay others to do the things we know we would screw up if we tried to do it ourselves.

Big day of preventative maintenance on the bay doors
Cleaned & lubed the latches & checked the bolts for tightness
Lubed the key lock tumblers
Cleaned, lubed, and checked the tightness of the pivot pins for the actuation arms (don't let these get loose or they can get in a bind and shear off at the threads, Not Good)

Defrosted the 'fridge yesterday.

A few days ago, I installed a Battery Tender to charge the chassis batteries from 120VAC supply. It's another alternative to Trik-L-Start, boost switch, shore powered isolator jumper, etc.

Checked the tire pressures a few days ago. All pressures were as expected. We'll tweak them up based on lowest expected ambient temperatures for the next trip.

Left towed Jeep at the garage a few days ago to fix looseness in the front end.

Looked at what's for sale, what other folk are doing, what other folk are driving, and smiled.  :)

Protected itself against over-voltage, fortunately.

Parked at Naval Station, Great Lakes.  Got in coach the other day and nothing worked.  Looked at the built-in surge protector it read 133v.  Had the base electricians check out pedestal, they said, over the phone, it's all OK.  Sunday 127v and coach OK.  Tuesday 131v and coach shut down.  Gal who is helping me detail coach before storage plugged in an electric drill and sparks flew.  Dropped drill and called me.  133v again.  Told the park manager and he sent one of his people over.  Sure enough 133v.  Now they gotta fix it before someone gets hurt.  And yes, I did check voltages with 2 other multimeters.  Now I am wondering about the coach's house batteries.  Have them on a separate charger bring them back.  As the park is almost empty I suspect the transformer, it sure can't be a load fluctuation.  Electricians please feel free...

Finished the last bit of new laminate flooring, replaced the hour meter on the generator, finished replacing the sway bar bushings and bar end bushings.  Discovered that the engine water pump is seized - removed tensioner and two belts to inspect for removal access.

I had both belts (engine AC and alternator) replaced on my 1999 U320 M11 by R Mechanic in Livermore, CA $202.50

We are now a bit outside Jackson, CA on CA 88 at the Jackson Rancheria RV Park. Probably the nicest RV Park we've been in (and perhaps the most expensive).

A green park. They dump your tanks for you before you can go in. They don't want any renegade chemicals on their site, and give you a bottle of the chemicals they approve of!

Over Carson Pass tomorrow 8573ft. Then on to US 395 and South to CA 58 - CA 247 - CA 62 - I-10 CA 86 - S30 - Sunbeam Lake RV Resort outside El Centro, CA for the Winter. (I understand the British Prince is still desert training at the Naval Air Station 5 miles from our RV Park. Perhaps we'll see him when we go the NAS for dinner.)

Aah, Gayland, we have a built-in alarm clock at the head of the bed on driver's side in our '89 GV ORED. (came with coach) Does this qualify us  as a big fancy rig??  Sure would be nice!

I changed the Cummins oil and filter today, checked the belts. Also, replaced the air filter in the Onan 7.5 KW generator (supposed to change every 500 hours) and changed the oil and filter (every 100 hrs) in it.  I wanted to change out the differential fluid, but can't get the fill plug to budge (it's a 1/2" square hole), so I guess I'll leave that for MOT.
