Ladies Driving School Nov.7-10 2011 @ FOT

Are any of the Forum members attending this event except Tammy and me?
If so we are looking forward to meeting some of the members there.

I may have the date wrong as it has been listed Nov.8-11-2011 as well.
While there we will have some service and updating of our coach done.

Akiko & I will be there.  I don't see your names on the class roster so you must have been added recently.

It starts at 10:00 AM on November 7.  We also plan to have some work done while there  but Jeremy advised that they don't make reservations during events like this.  It is first come, first served for event attendees to give everyone an equal chance.

Hi Monti,

Yes we just signed up by phone a few days ago so we are probably MIA on the roster. Look forward to meeting you two there as well as others attending. Should be fun.

Dear wife attended school last year...fun time..

We also had work done on our coach while here for school.  The only time I have ever heard they might open on Saturday to finish all the work requested by people doing the school. They did get everything finished on Friday. They will not turn anyone down for service.
We are only strangers until we meet; however, some of us are stranger than others

Ladies Driving School is GREAT!  I attended last year and had a really good 4 days.  NO guys allowed, except for a few events where they are invited. The opportunity to drive coaches with a patient instructor after getting 2 solid days of classroom information and discussion is really empowering. I had driven our 36' with no problem, but wanted to feel more confident about the 40' we had just gotten. I wound up actually driving a 42' w/ tag axle during our "on the road" portion, and had no "nerves" at all. I have also determined that what is probably needed is a "Men's Passenger School" ... because they still seem to get all crazy and nervous when we want to take the wheel and they have to sit in the co-pilot seat.  My favorite kind of driving is still rest stop to rest stop on the interstate ... but I know that I can take it anywhere, if I have to.

Thanks Jeff, good to know it was a fun time and the business was taken care of by FOT. I only hope our experience is the same as yours as we are really looking forward to it.
After your mention of the shrimp in Palacious, we might have to stop there first on our way from Colorado, as if it is on the way but sounds too good to pass up.

Carol I am pleased to know that FOT uses their own coaches during the Ladies Driving school. Tammy has driven our past 34' motorhome without a problem but our new to us Foretravel 40' is just a bit different than the old one. Men's school on riding in the passenger seat, I think that would be a very long course without many graduates. ;D

Palacios is not on the way from Colorado ... but it might be a trip afterwards!  You will probably be coming via Amarillo, and an very easy stop is at the Oasis RV Resort, on the west edge of Amarillo right on I-40.  Huge pull-thrus and a little restaurant on premises for an easy dinner or breakfast.  Of course, in Amarillo, there is always The Big Texan!!

Wonder what the cost is?  Have been on the Club site, see a $200 deposit holds a spot.  Dolly is interested, and we might also fit it into the work schedule for her.

Afraid the class cost would be the lower of the two costs, if we were to start a service ticket at the same time.

Carol, thanks for the information. We will be going through NM to visit friends on the way south so we will be so fortunate to be part of the El Paso 500 on the way.

Dave & Dolly, I think the cost of the class for one is $394.00 and for two $499.00 but please call Beverly Koonce at FOT for updated information and availability.

Per hour cost of the class is CHEAP, cheap, cheap when you consider the value of the instruction.  They feed you, too!!  Plus there is the camaraderie of Camp Foretravel, as well.  You gentlemen can monitor the repair issues while your brides are learning that it is a lot easier than they thought to feel confident behind the wheel.  I guarantee that you will be glad if you decide to join in.
