A more modern appearance

In an effort to clean up the outside appearance of our coach - 2003 designer - I would like to remove the zipdee awnings that are attached to the slides. Last week, Judy and I had the pleasure to attend the Mid-Atlantic rally in Fairlea, WV, and we were parked next to a 2009 Nimbus, 2 slide. Apparently, Foretravel no longer installs these awnings. What would be the consequence of removing them. We do have a rubber squeegee over built slides that contacts the top of the slide. These were recently replaced by Foretravel.

In this post, we mentioned the Mid-Atlantic Rally, in Fairlea, and never have we met a more personable and fun-loving group of people. We had an absolutely wonderful time, and will be looking forward to our next Rally. We live in Chicago, but could not attend our local rally due to scheduling conflicts, and it was most kind of these folks to accept us into theirs.

I know initial models without the awnings had complaints over leaks , and there was discussion here (or rather on the old yahoo group). I'm not sure if there were design changes to correct this. But I would be careful and consider at least initially not making your change permanent.
