New Standard of Coach

For $3 million, you could get your hands on this gem.

LOL.  Now, I suspect it might be slightly more than $3million.  A new H3-45 Liberty is running around $2.5 so this big thing surely would be much more!
And yes, I think they used a Grand Villa as a prototype!  Did you see the depth of the slide?  It's got to be an 8ft deep slide!

But what fun to drive! :)

Gemutlichkeit?  I think not.  It really does look like Woody Allen and Diane Keaton would have used it in "Sleeper".

The front end reminds me of the 50's GMC cab over trucks, ugly then and still ugly.  Think I will stick with my GV . BTW comparing this thing with a GV is insulting.  :-(

Oh I agree 100% with you Gary,  That German thing is ugly.  Now a GV is a thing of beauty!

You couldn't even pay me enough to park next to it.

And the interior look to be just one big party room.

And the slide is so deep i doubt if you could get into or out of the driver's area with the slide in.

Double Ugh.

Extend slide and it fall over.  Ein "Tippen" verbesserte Auflage.  Or in pigeon German" Das Tippenwagan"

Couldn't resist.  Sorry.

It looks like a great crowd clearance vehicle.  Scoop 'em up and extend slide as it fills.

I didn't mean to compare it to a Grand Villa, but we all know the Grand Villa is the Gold Standard of Motor Coach class worldwide so they must have tried, although in vane, to copy the style. Even if some folks think the Gran Villa's style is dated.

Grand Villa dated?? Dated?? Aerodynamic and distinctive along with functional. I think it is a classic style that is never going to disappear. The style is reminiscient of a classic Rolls-Royce. People see and recognize the GV from a distance. Try doing that with the newer Foretravels! Even the Tiffin line has a new model that emulates the GV!
Until one gets up close and can see the quality of the newer FTs and the name it is hard to differentiate them from almost any other class A on the road (a lot like most of the cars produced today).

I always felt they looked like a locomotive. Especially the narrow body 280 and 300s...
What always impressed me the most was walking up to one from the front. It just keeps getting bigger and bigger until its darned near overwhelming.

Got to see our coach today.

We keep it in a covered storage bay with power, some 20 miles away.  We drive down the aisle between the two buildings, always looking at the new neighbors, the old neighbors, the good and the bad, till we arrive at nearly the end of the building.  And there again today is our old classic tucked back deep in the long bay.  We are always thrilled to see it again.

We have not found another one we want to trade for, we love the style.  Love the look and it is so true, the Grand Villa is so easy to spot, unique for sure.  It sure puts a smile on my face when I get to see it again.

This is certainly a truism. The late-80s and early 90s coachss look normal from a distance or in photos (unless you notice where the door is and how small it looks). While we were looking at coaches I noticed the same phenomenon as Dave Head has noticed... they just keep getting bigger and Bigger and BIGGER.
