Foretravel remodeling contact/backlog

Before we purchased our coach we made a journey from California to the factory to review the many different models available.  We were treated wonderfully by the staff and had our run of the coaches on site.  We had the same experience at MOT.  We ended up purchasing the very first Foretravel we looked at out in California at California Coach.  They too were very patient and great to work with.  My question is now I would like to get some remodeling done at the factory and have left four messages in that department and have yet to get a return call.  Everyone has said to talk with David Flannigan but he has not been able to respoind apparently.  Anyone have another suggestion as to who I should talk with at Foretravel or should I contact MOT?

Davids mom passed away recently, call and leave a message for Lyle Reed. Also call Mike Rodgers at MOT for a bid.

Scott.

David is difficult to reach.  Try 7:30 A.M. and again around 4:00.  I used to get upset until I saw how many calls he receives in any given day.  It would be impossible for him to get anything done if he answered them all. I believe I have his personal cell and if I find the number I will PM you....If you do talk to Lyle recommend they add some people to that department.

Thanks for the info.  I can certainly appreciate delay in the event of his mother passing away.  I know these guys are busy and I want to support the factory.  Jeff thanks for you suggestion on times to call.  Tim, I will call Lyle today.  Wife wants new TV's and stereo and new flooring and some other things.  Sounds like a small fortune in the making. :o

You could try this:  david.flanagan@foretravel.com or send an email to service.texas@foretravel.com and ask that it be forwarded to Dave.  We have not had a lot of work done by Dave's shop, but for what was done, they did a great job.  And Dave, as well as his crew, are some of the nicest people at Foretravel!

Scott. David Flanigan will return your call but as Tim points out it does take a while, sometimes as long as a few weeks, in my experience. Believe me it is worth the wait. If you want a more rapid response, try asking for his boss, the service manager, Cory Rucker at 1-800-955-6226 (sorry I do not have his extension number here at home).

Call and talk to the service department. They will get the message to David. He does first class work.

I ask Cory to add more people to the renovation shop every time I'm there, but he has to look at maintaining staff through the lean months.  I always ask about their backlog and arrange my visit as much as six months in advance at a time when they aren't fully booked.  FT runs normal service at short backlog levels to cover emergencies and pretty long backlogs for renovations.  I think you'll find MOT does much the same.

Hmmmmm. David Flanigan never returned either of the two phone calls I made to him in 2010.

Remember that quite a few employees at FOT monitor this website; which is a good thing.  They will read the posts and will bring up our concerns on wait time for renovations to upper management.

I am very pleased to see all the comments are so positive.  Waiting months for remodeling is not good for the company and I believe they are leaving $$ on the table.

Carol and I were at FOT when Dave's mom passed.  He came into the shop the following day to make sure everything was running ok. That type of dedication is evident through out Foretravel...

FWIW.

Haven't had any remodeling done at FT (yet), but the service department is wonderful to work with and just exudes competence, as does the one at MOT.  Two great companies!

I did get a call back from David yesterday before I posted my comment.  Need to check my own messages before I start wineing.  It did take a few weeks but given the circumstances I certainly understand.  I will try getting ahold of him early tomorrow morning.  Since I am in California 7:30AM Texas is 5:30AM Cali.  We don't do that real well. ;D  I appreciate again all the input.  We would like to tie our remodel into the Houston Rodeo season so we can make the trip leave our coach enjoy the rodeo and head back to Cali.  Then we can pick the coach up when we get ready for our late spring adventures.

Bear in mind that David Flanagan has a dinosaur of a computer on his desk, and he does NOT have email there.  No joke ... it is so old, it is BEIGE!!  He can get some old files and store a lot of photos of renovations on it ... but he has to traipse into the main building to get to a machine that will give him email access.  You would think that a department that is so consistently busy and requires SO much one-on-one contact and conversation in the planning stages of a project, would merit a newer piece of computer hardware.  I have never seen the man stand still. You might have better luck sending him a snail mail ... truly.  He is a very busy guy, so I would just be patient and keep calling.

Have you seen the Thinkpad Bob Irland uses for Wabco, etc., error codes?  I worked on some of the early Thinkpad motherboards in the early 90's and I think it predates those!
