Karl,

I have found the tech help folks at the US distributor on the west coast to be most helpful.  Google Splendide to get their contact info and call them.

My recent problem which was the control knob starting to rotate for no reason.  They said it was a communication problem with the board.  But the suggested solution of removing and opening the control knob and bending a little more angle in the contacts to improve contact pressure to the board they rotate on did not fix the problem.  But again they said the problem continued to be communication.

I got lucky when I examined the harness plug to the bottom of the knob and found a crack in the corner that only opened if I added pressure to the plug as if it were being pressed on to the knob connection.  I bent the harness connector contacts to a greater angle and communication problem solved.

But again it was the tech folks that kept encouraging the search for a communication issue.

Plus, I found how to defeat the door lock so Carolyn can open the door during the drying cycle to fluff blouses she wishes to wear that day.  Boy, was it a pain to wait 2 minutes for the lock to time out.

There is a nylon plastic piece that holds the electric locking mechanism to which the harness plug is connected.  Unplugging the plug does not work but separating the locking mechanism with plug attached does.  Just leave the mechanism restrained so it does not flop around works just fine.  I tucked mine behind the harness loop that is tied to the body to hold in place.  This is for model 2100.

Karl,

If Splendide/Westland Sales didn't suggest it, you might try the Maintenance Flush to help get rid of lint.  I was shocked how much we had in ours the first time I did it (after 3 years).
