You are not alone! We just bought a 1993 Unihome U225 in Washington State. Sue and I are both experienced RVers but this is our first motorhome. Sue grew up in motorhomes, however, and her parents had them from the 1970s. We have been using a 21-foot Streamline Princess, tents, had a camper/pickup and a 5th wheel with a slide. We are really looking forward to using our U225.

Welcome to the forum!

Hi Robert and Linda!!!

Peggy and I also started with a U225 three years ago with no motorhome experience. Due to some health issues and early retirement we decided we loved the RV lifestyle so much we would go full time and moved up to our current 40' U300, more storage space. The only thing that would be better is if our house would sell so we can stay on the road permanently. I trust you will have as good an experience.

Welcome, Robert & Linda.

We moved up to a Foretravel this year from a travel trailer and we love it.  You will find this is a great place to help you if you have any questions.

Hey, Robert and Linda!!  I think that all the "cool kids" start with a U225 ... because we did, too! We learned so much in the first 3 years.  We are now full timing and living in our 3rd Foretravel.  This is the best place to find an answer to any question or problem that you have ... from mechanical issues to where to find a service locations to "What is this switch for?"  Welcome to the Forum, and we will "see you down the road"!

For those with newly a acquired  U225 or U240's (actually for anyone with one), one of the unique features is the Torsilastic Suspension.

As with any mechanical component, it is a good idea to know its "care and feeding".

Just use the "Search" feature here in the Foreforum and type in "Torsilastic".

If questions, post on "Tech Talk". Many of these coaches need their ride height adjusted.  Ride height affects coach ride and handling, and if seriously out of spec can lead to expensive repairs.  Checking is very simple.  Adjusting is not difficult if you have even basic mechanical skills.

Welcome to the forum and your U-225.

We too have gotten a U-225, Kent and Peggy Spear's first coach.  The help from Kent, and so many on this forum has been invaluable to us this first year.

Sure hope you enjoy your coach as much as we have and plan to in the future.
