Dometic Refer Handle

The handle on the refrigerator side of the refer cracked and broke. I went down to the local RV parts place to order one.  They told me that the handle is no longer available. 

The refer is a Dometic Mod #RM7130, Serial #50400085, Handle #2931398-0214.  The new number they have listed is 3108702634. 

I have a 1996 U320.  Its seems like there would be a whole lot of coaches out there running into the same problem and no handles are available ?

Does anyone have any suggestions on locating this part ?

Not sure I understand the problem. Will the new/superseded part work on your refrigerator?  If so, have you found a source for it?

You can order parts directly from Dometic by calling the retail sales department at 1-800 544 4881.  Please be sure to have your model number available so the correct parts list can be obtained.

I have been looking for a handle for my NDR1062. The parts desk at FOT didn't have the part, but said the number is 2932094010. I could find that anywhere, but an Internet search yields 2932094044 for the NDR1062. The picture looks right and several places claim to have them. I have not ordered anything yet.

Try a Google (Yahoo, Bing) search for dometic door latch <your refrigerator model number>.

Thank you for the replies.  Very much.  I'm somewhat computer illiterate but learning more everyday.  I will try all those suggestions first thing tomorrow.

Brett, the number was given to me as the new replacement number for that part although they told me regardless, the part was not available anymore.  Thanks for your information and hopefully I'll find the part soon.

Jim, I have that very same refrigerator and we are looking to replace the referigerator in our MH. It may be another month before we actually take it out but we could send both handles to you if you want, neither one is broke and the catches that keep the doors closed are both good. I know the catches are no longer made.

Price seems very high. I did some searching and that handle appears to be rare.

Thanks again for all the responses.  Everyone says the same, its no longer in stock.  PPL gave me some RV Salvage numbers to call but since Kerry has offered his parts to me thats the way I'll go.
