Air & Water Purge

So what's the deal with these purge switches? Located right next to the remote start panel in the engine compartment. Thanks.

Hey Jor,
You will use the purge to evacuate air after changing the primary and secondary fuel filters, plus after cleaning the fuel strainer. The water purge should drain any accumulated water in the bowl of the primary filter.

That little black box is the component that failed on our coach.  It also controls the power that operates the fuel assist pump in the armature that mounts the glass Winn 20/20 fuel filter.  We were having problems with "fuel starvation".  Repair procedure per the Cummins manual is to ditch the whole Winn 20/20 and that purge feature, replace the old armature with a very simple one that holds a regular water separating fuel filter.  Repair cost ... very reasonable.  Diagnosing problem ... LOTS of time & therefore costly.

Jor, will pull out my extra filters and let you know if I have an extra 20/20.  Will you be in Quartzsite? We have to leave on the 24the and return to Tucson for VA appointments.  Let us know your schedule, I owe you a lunch.
