MaxxFan Deluxe Model 7000K

In preparation for a future roof painting we have been removing/upgrading various items. The useless roof rack is gone. As the Kool-O Matic fan motor was on its last legs we decided to upgrade to the MaxxFan Deluxe Model 7000K. For those of you who have original factory installation you can rest assure that the roof connection will never leak. I found butyl putty in the outside screw area under the aluminum flashing. It was surprisingly flexable after 15 years. There was an additional 2" ring of silicone sealant closer to the cone. Installation of the fan was easy and well thought out. The most time consuming part of the project was sealing the 47 screw holes from the old installation. The MaxxFan has an auto feature that will open the cover, start and vary the fan speed to achieve the desired room temperature, stop the fan and shut the cover.

Nice job! Two questions for you... What did you use to fill the screw holes and what is the noise level compared to the cool-o-matic? Ours seems like it isn't long for the world and this seems like an ideal replacement!

I used a polyester filler. Holes must be clean and all sharp edges chamfered. The noise at max speed appears to be less than the Kool-O-Matic.
