Where's the switch?

So there is a small spot light in the bottom of the cabinets over the driver and passenger seats. Can't seem to find any switch to operate them.....

Dean, Try turning the headlite switch full left, on mine that turns on an overhead lite on the driver side.

On my coach, the light switch would be on the left panel with all the other switches, docking lights, mirror controls etc...

My 1995 U320 has the same system as Gary's coach.

We also have a 2003 (U295 - not 270, though).  Do you mean the small halogen light under the TV cabinet?  If so, the switch for ours is next to the entry door and has a green LED light below the switch labeled "interior."  This switch is only for the forward driver/passenger cab lights (including the TV light), and the green LED light is on all the time (helpful when entering the coach at night, to light up the cab area and stairs).  Hope this helps....

Glad you said this... I have replaced the lights in that fixture twice and have it dismounted ready to troubleshoot because I could not make it work. LOL

Our driver's side fixture has a push switch in addition to the dash switch.  When we got the coach, the bulb was broken and the dash switch had a piece of crud keeping it from working.  Took a long time to figure it all out.  I was ready to run a wire from the passenger side and be done with it!

Thanks for your responses.
          I am still haven't found the secret switch but will keep looking. The lights are the same ones that Patricia showed in her pic of the one under her T.V. but are located over the drivers and passengers seats. Kind of like a map light.  I will check the bulbs next.

The bulb above the drivers seat is controlled as already mentioned by the headlight dimming switch.  I had to replace my headlight switch to fix the dash lights which weren't working.  The switch is  the same switch as the one halogen above the driver.  Your headlight switch may also be malfunctioning.  This is readily replaceable from your local auto parts store (got mine at autozone).  Really not hard to replace.  However, before taking off on that direction, check it with a volt meter to insure it has current.  If it is working fine then obviously the bulb.  I don't have the button as another has mentioned.

Dean, our '03 appears the same as Patricia's. We have three quartz lights over the passenger and driver's seats that come on with the same switch; the one in the step well.  Dick

The led lit switch in the stairwell turns on the galley overhead floresent. I get nothing by turning the headlight (dash) dimmer to the left or right.
      It's raining hard here in western La. so it's giving me something to do. Also learning some of the smartwheel functions and combing through systems manuals. Should keep me busy for a while.

On my 96 295, the led green stairway light also does the galley flourescent (not the brass puck halogen lights).  In my coach, there are about 8-10 lights that are the brass puck lights under the passenger side (or starboard) cabinets.  These are controlled by two rocker switches about midway down the starboard side in the middle of those 8-10 lights.  The one forward lights the 4 or so that are forward of the switch and the one behind lights the lights behind the switch.  The rear ones extend to over the dining table.  On the drivers side, the most forward light is on my coach  is independent.  It is controlled as I noted by the light switch and goes on only just like a dome light for a car as you rotate the head light switch shaft counter clockwise. The puck halogen lights behind that are light by a rocker switch about 6 feet back of the drivers seat near the puck lights (similar to the two on the starbord or passenger side).  My guess is if the front puck light is not working on the passenger side then it is burnt out.  The brass puck rings are somewhat difficult to remove without breaking (i have personally done this). What has worked in removing them is very gently using something like a pocket knife to get below the brass plastic ring and slowly elevating it  in several places (kinda like opening a paint can with a screwdriver).  Then check the bulb and if good, check the fixture.

Today, while the DW was otherwise occupied in the charger/converter bay, I skipped out of my safety watch job and checked. Sure enough, the driver's map light does work by turning the headlight knob fully counter-clockwise. At this point the push-button switch on the light fixture will turn the light off and on.

Your mileage may differ as it appears Foretravel changed this periodically just to keep us all on our toes.

I find a new switch, control, solenoid, or fuse/circuit breaker every week. :)

   Hi all,
            Well mystery switch finally found. Mine is on the side of the cabinet just over the passenger seat. It's tied in with the front overhead fluoresent and the passenger side bulb is out.

    As said earlier FT obviously changed the switch control and location often to keep us on our toes.
