Fan Pump

The fan pump on my 1993 Unihome is toast, leaking quite badly. I am in Alamogordo NM and the dealer working on the coach cannot find a replacement, seems the mfr is no longer in business. The pump is a W900 series pump with c/w rotation. Has anyone info on where to get a replacement ?

You can also try a hydraulic system additive that expands and makes the old seals flexible. Available at auto parts store. May do the job until the new pump arrives. You will want to change all the fluid when you install the new pump.

I had an additive fix a front seal in a MBZ trans that was leaking like a sieve. That was 100K ago.

If the Haldex is the suggested replacement for the Vickers, it is supposed to be a good pump.  We just installed a Haldex with the number 1800465, if that helps. 

We got a replacement for our Vickers from FT with all necessary adapters, and they offered next day delivery (we took second day).  They would probably like to know about the failed pump.

Hey thanks for the replies. Looks like my repair shop in Alamogordo NM has taken the old pump apart and found that all they need to do is find a replacement seal for the existing pump. Better then the $600 plus that I would have to shell out for a new pump. If you be stuck with problems over here in Alamogordo I recommend One Stop Auto Parts and service. They are great to do business with.

When the shop finds the replacement seal, how about posting the part number and any other pertinent information? Can it be replace without removing the pump, etc.? A lot of our pumps probably use the same seal. Seal failure is the most likely problem the pumps have.

Yes the pump had to be removed, but it did not look like a big deal although it was a bit messy. I will try to get the seal part number and post it as soon as they repair the pump. I could have done the job myself if we weren't "on the road" when the failure occurred.

Instead of replacing the hydrostatic fan pump the repair shop sent it out to have the leaking seal replaced. New pump cost $600 (from One Stop) repair of old pump $122.90. The National part number for the seal is 221920, that part number cross references to a Honda seal part number 91249-P02-003. If you are ever in Alamogordo NM and need work done I highly recommend One Stop Auto Parts & Service on White Sands Blvd. They do a good job and the price is reasonable. I called Foretravel for a replacement pump for my coach and they quoted me $1600. The replacement of two hydraulic hoses, the repair of the pump, the replacement of an idler/tensioner and the welding of the cracked mounting plate was less than the cost of a pump from Foretravel. Saved enough to buy a few gallons of diesel fuel.
