New fresh water pump

Im not sure how old the fresh water pump is so I'm thinking of replacing it now rather than wait till it dies.

I'm thinking of going to a higher output pump because I have added a few water based appliances during my restoration ( Bosch washer/dryer, dishwasher, bosch residential counter depth side by side refrigerator with fresh water dispenser and ice maker) I also have a instant hot water dispenser snd fresh filtered water at sink.

Any suggestions on the current high output pumps. or do you think a standard pump
Is all that's really needed.

Your options in 12 volt will be limited.  I ave thought about a 120 volt pump and keeping my 12 volt as a backup.

Also on my 99 I had a stand alone ice maker a water dispenser a washer and everything but the dishwasher. If you don't run them altogether they will run fine on the standard 12 volt pump.

What Brand and model seems to be the best bet for performance and reliability?

I believe lots of people feel the SureFlow 4.8 is good. The 5.6 seems universally hated.

Hands down, Shurflo 4048 is the best pump for us. It is their newest pump and it has been completely trouble free. I has no electronics and does not use an accumulator.

The Shurflo 4048 pump operates normally up to a set pressure when the spring loaded bypass valve opens, allowing flow back from the output side to the input side, providing smooth, steady flow with virtually no cycling, all the way down to a trickle. As a faucet is opened back up, the pressure will drop, the bypass will close and full flow is again obtained.

We have been using it over a year without a hitch.

Lon,
While not as up-scale as yours, I have all of the water users that you mentioned. I have NO problem with them using the OEM 12v water pump. I do carry a replacement spare just in case.

I installed the Shurflo 4048 pump. Water pressure is fantastic even when running several water sources. About the same noise level as the original Shurflo but not as much recycling.
Easy install.
I will keep the old pump for a spare.

I just installed the Surflow 5.7 Extream and I am very pleased. I removed the bladder tank (space problems) but the Extream series does not require a bladder tank. It has a variable speed pump and is dead quiet while running with a significant improvement in performance. I removed a Surflow 4.0 probably the original (loud). Hopefully I won't have problems with lack of expansion in the system without the tank. If I do I will relocate a new tank in a different location if necessary.

mcmojo - just bought/installed that pump last month. It is the OEM equivalent on my coach.  The original 5.7 model has been discontinued and this is the replacement.  Slight config change but has same footprint so did not even have to drill new holes.

Only used once so far but it does not cycle nearly as much as the old one and is slightly quieter.  No difference in pressure that I could detect.  Call the RV Water Filter Store and talk to the owner.  He is very helpful and will answer all your questions.

I replaced our pump with the Aquajet ES, which is the lower volume version as compared to the Aquajet RV. We use the pump for all water requirements in the coach. We normally don't use shore pressure. The pump is a significant improvement in noise level over the previous pump. We have been very pleased.

The ES required no changes in wiring. The current draw is the same as the previous pump. I left the accumulator in the system. It is in good shape and serves as a mitigator of high pressure problems in the water system that result from expansion of water as the water heater operates.

I did purchase a pair of the "soft loop" hoses to help isolate pump noise. After the installation, I did have to replace one fitting on the original plumbing for the pump. The washer was old and bad. It was easy to replace the entire fitting with one from the local hardware store.

Has any one tried the Aquajet RV pump from the RV water filter store?

Our coach had the Aquajet RV 5.3 as OEM.  We don't have an accumulator so the variable speed of that pump is nice.  We had to replace it in 2010 and did so with the same pump again.  We are fans.
