Leveling after extended stay

I have a 94 U280 and have been reading/researching leveling.  On my coach after being parked and plugged in to 30 amp service for about 3 weeks my coach loses air and gets off level.  If I start the coach up the pressure builds fine and the HWH will go into travel mode.  I can then hit the level button and it levels perfectly.  My question is this, after 3 weeks or so while in level mode is the compressor suppose to come on as needed and inflate the air bags to keep the coach level or should I have to fire up the engine and do it that way?

The HWH 12V compressor should come on and supply enough air pressure to level the coach. You should not have to start the engine.

Depends. How out of level is it? I have a '94 U280 and if one side is low, it will LOWER the high side until sooner or later the body rests on the tires. Then the pump will come on and pump up the low side. But it defaults to lower the high sides first. I put 6 1/2 " 4x4's between the frame members to keep it off the tires and just let it do it's thing. Sometimes it is slightly out of level but no red light on the panel. No red light, no problem.

Twig is correct that the HWH will bleed pressure on the high side/end in order to level. If that adjustment is insufficient, the 12V compressor should activate and raise the low side/end.

If you want the system to automagically keep the coach level, be sure to leave the HWH in auto-level mode. That requires two pushes of the "LEVEL" button. The system will wake up at 30 minutes intervals to check whether the coach is still in an attitude that the system considers to be level.
