Power to backup camera

I am in the process of replacing both the back up camera and the Audit system. I wired in the camera and discovered no power.

Where does the red power lead go? I have no wiring diagrams and therefore no idea of where to look. Does it go to the old Monitor switrch on the dashboard or does it only operate when something else does?

Any help much appreciated before I have to back out of the woods blind.

This is on a 1992 U240.  Anyone have a wiring diagram handy?

The power to the camera on my 1993 U225 was activated by both the on/off switch on the dash and the two way switch next to it that directed the screen to show the camera image or the Audit system. Some coaches had a three way switch to the left. If your 240 has a three way switch, the switch has to be in the middle position to send power to the camera. The primary switch has to be up (on) either way.

Good info, Pierce.

In addition to checking for power on wire 71 (monitor on), check that the ground wire, which is just screwed into chassis ground at the camera is good and tight.

Thanks Pierce and Bret.

Now that I know I think I can safely finish removal of the Audit and get my camera working.

The wiring digram will be particularly helpfuland I will be able to print it out.
