How HOT is too HOT for coach storage??

Today it is 104 degrees in East Texas.  No air moving.  That makes a storage building mighty hot.  If I turn on one ac then the bays will still be HOT. thats where the batteries and invertor are located. I know the coaches at FOT and MOT are out in the heat so how much heat can a coach handle without damage to something.  TKs DAN

This is my judgement and not supported by experience but only anecdotal.  So long as the coach is in storage and not in direct sun exposed to the elements, everything should be fine.  Just monitor the situation from time to time to ensure there are no failures in the coach systems such as batteries and in your case the compressed air needed to keep the room slide bladders inflated.  If you are plugged to shore power all the better.

I had the misfortune of storing my previous SOB motorhome closed up tight in the Southern California sun one summer.  The heat caused the headliner and vinyl (fake wood) wall covering to peel off.  Ever since, I have made it a point to keep a window and roof vent cracked.  I have a secondary vent cover so I can keep the vent open no matter what the weather, and I have the vent fan set to turn on at 80F.  So far so good with the FT.

Our U225 came with a fabric cover but we've never used it; stories about external wear have deterred us. We store the coach outside, unprotected, but with 50-a service. I keep the fan set to 85 and the bathroom vent open (along with a window or two). So far it hasn't gotten too hot this year (yesterday's high was 57!) but I'm sure 100F is coming.

Seems to me that putting the cover on might actually make it hotter. Anyone have any experience with this?

Only know the paint shops try to talk folks out of black or real dark colors as they get more damage from the heat than a light color paint.

We have stored our coach outside near our home for two years. Summer temperatures frequently exceed 100F. High today was 103F (so far). I keep thermostats for A/C at 86F in the summer. I leave the kitchen vent and one window slightly open. I just noticed some "creep" in the material between the glass of one of the Creation windows. I've not seen any other damage from the heat other than general wear from being outside in the sunshine. I would like to built a storage barn, but I don't think that is going to happen unless small-cap stocks recover to where they were six years ago.

This morning cked the storage and it was about 90 at 10 oclock.  Cracked open the bay door for the inverter and placed a fan to blow air in.  Opened couple small windows at front.  It was hot last summer and got no damage.  We plan to head for Yellowstone/Mount Rushmore etc about the 17th of July and stay gone for about 4 to 5 weeks and try to miss the hottest part of this Texas heat.  Any other suggestions where to go cool???  Tks DAN

Yellowstone is almost always cool with high elevation but I remember the year of the big fire there. Who would imagine Denver at 105 degrees? Good rule of thumb is 3 1/2 degrees cooler for every thousand feet of elevation change. Rockies probably good with 10 day forecast on Weather Forecast & Reports - Long Range & Local | Wunderground | Weather a good planning tool.
