Allison push button pad wiring

I was working on a rocker switch light problem in the side drivers console. While I had the switch assembly off the console looking for a ground problem when I saw a RED wire that was cut (two loose ends with insulation to the end) the wire was up by the Allison section were the trans buttons are located.

Any idea what this wire is for?
Doesn't seem to be a way the factory would leave a diagnostic wire.

did you check it to see if it had power on either end?? It may help someone if you took a picture and post it, but did you try at all to follow the wire each way to see maybe its location, and was there any coding on the wire at all??

I put everything back togeather and
Planned on going back to check the rocker switch light problem at a later date.
The red wire question was bothering me for the last week.
I finnaly decided to throw it out on the forum to see if anybody might have a answer.
When I get back to the rocker light issue I will further investigate the red wire question and take a picture.

Lon, Something tells me that in the distant past I read something about FT clipping a red wire on the Allison .  Maybe I'm Nuts, call FT and ask about it, may save you a lot of trouble.  In the meantime I'll do a further search to see if I am hallucinating.

Thanks.
The cut wire looks surgically done, like something that came that way .
I would have thought that it was factory but would have thought also that the wire ends would be sealed.
