ABS dash Brake Light

The BRAKE light  for the ABS, lights all the time when the engine is running.
In the manual it says the light comes on when the ABS is working.

Is this correct or am I reading the description in the manual wrong? It seems strange that a dash light for ABS would stay illuminated all the time.

The ABS light should come on initially when you turn the key and while it's performing its checks.  If everything is normal the light goes out.

You can check for blink codes to diagnose what the fault is:  ABS Troubleshooting

A lot of times it is jst a sensor that popped.  Block the Coach and crawl under and push in on each sensor.  The blink codes can tell you what wheel it is too I believe. But it is usually the same one for me when it happens so I go there first.

Lon,

On my 1995 the ABS light goes out when you start to move.
Also the procedure to check the release valves at each wheel is:

Put your foot on the brake pedal, about half way, then don't move your foot.
Turn the key to on. In about 1 second the computer will see that you want some brakes but because it doesn't see any pulses from the pickup at the wheels it senses a skid and will send two release signals to each brake bleed off valve. You will need someone at the rear of the coach to verify the releases at the rear brakes due to the noise from the front brakes.

I can see one problem is I need to get on the loud peddle and get the beast over 4mph.
