'93 U280 Kitchen Faucet Repair

I am hoping someone here has done this before us - looking for the part # for the replacement cartridge for the original kitchen faucet.  Ours drips when hooked to city water even with pressure reg. - hoping replacement will do the trick.

Christi and Ray, Don't know if they are similar or not but my 95 U280 has a White Single lever Delta Kitchen faucet that drips, I have tried taking it apart but it is so corroded that it will break up before I can get threads to budge so I bought a new one and will have it installed shortly.  With my back I can't contort enough to get under the sink to do it myself.

I agree. At that age, more reasonable to pull the old faucet, and go to a plumbing supply company (better quality than the box stores) and get a new one that connects the same as the one you have.  Been there, done that.

Plus you can install a much nicer faucet than OEM.  Steve replaced our kitchen faucet with a Grohe Ladylux Plus for me this year and we love it!  We had a functional/aesthetic height restriction to no more than 13" because of an upper cabinet, but others who do not have used a Moen Annabel which is also quite a nice upgrade (but taller).

Those Grohe faucets are first class.  I installed a Grohe temptrol shower valve and body sprays in my mom's house.  It is one fine bit of plumbing kit, not cheap though.

Well perhaps this is the opportunity to replace it.  I have wanted one that is higher & has a pull out sprayer.  I'll start looking.

The faucet in the DW's bathroom started dripping. Delta faucet repair kit: $5.79

Tried to remove capture "nut" and ended up twisting off supply lines and line to nozzle. Corrosion impossible to break on a 15 year old faucet.

Returned the repair kit for new faucet: $79

Result: two trips to hardware store. (usually plumbing fixes are good for three trips)
Get a new faucet. Less likely to wrench something loose and save the second trip.

I am very happy with the replacement faucet that we purchased at Home Depot ... very similar to this one, but it is a Kohler.  One thing I love is that is makes washing larger items in the sink easier because there is more clearance.  It also will extend far enough that it is actually a "pot filler" and reach the stove!!  MUCH easier to replace the faucet than to try and repair an old one.  HOWEVER ..... many of these are very low flow and your water pump can "pulse" unless you have the accumulator tank or a variable speed pump.

one comment, if I may, on removal of the original faucet. after several
attempts with conventional and non conventional plumbing tools to
remove the rusted faucet and finally realizing that I just don't contort
that way anymore, I rushed off to harbor freight and purchased the little
air driven cut off tool with a 3 inch wheel. it is 6 inches long and cost six
bucks.  I just reached up and zapped it off in just a few seconds.
I hope this helps somebody from frustration, or a trip to the chiropractor.
