Kool-O-Matic

If the wall thermostat is bad, is there just an on/off switch that can be used as a replacement? The motor and fan assembly function but the  wall switch gets alarmingly hot on the high setting. Also, does anyone have the replacement $ and installation ideas for a replacement fan.

You can replace it with a fantastic vent assembly and these work very well

Since there is nothing that moves a lot of air quietly even in rain, keeping a Kool O Matic fan working is worthwhile. Most but not all love their Kool O Matic, but part are no longer available.

The wall switch can be replaced with another one that fits.  Someone on our forum recently posted that they found a replacement motor that will fit.

I suggest that you check all of the connections for the fan as a poor connection can generate a lot of heat.  If you need a replacement thermostat let me know.

All connections and volt meter test are ok. The high low switch and the little JMP2 below  gets warm to touch. On high setting the switch temp is too hot to touch. Is this heat transfer normal? Does anyone have an idea for replacement of the thermostat? The fan motor and assembly are OK!

The high heat is an indication of more current (amperage) going through the switch than the switch was designed to handle. I would normally start looking for a short in the wiring after the switch.
