Re: Anyone found a 120v refrigerator replacement for the NDR-1492 Dometic? Reply #1 – July 28, 2012, 10:57:03 am Not without requiring cabinet modification. Anything 36" wide yet shallow enough is going to be taller. That said, David Flanagan was swapping one out for a gorgeous Bosch side by side when we were at FOT in April. I believe it was the same series/model that Lon and Cheryl installed in their coach. David did extensive research to find a residential model that would work in the space. To install it means you lose the storage under the fridge if you have that, and a much larger job if you have the Intellitec lighting control under the fridge (because you have to relocate the lighting control and wiring). You might investigate the cooling units from RV Cooling Unit Warehouse NDR1492 Dometic Brand-New cooling Unit I believe that's the company Dave Stevens got his replacement cooling unit from.Michelle Quote Selected

Re: Anyone found a 120v refrigerator replacement for the NDR-1492 Dometic? Reply #3 – July 28, 2012, 11:20:11 am Great. I will have to find out which model that was.... The 4200 is the model that the Intellitec was made for. So, I will have to analyze options to deal with that. Thanks for the info.My issues are that whenever we try to use the ice maker we get an overpowering maple smell. And only one set of the fins inside is cooling and the other is always freezing. Also, the seal is going bad. Quote Selected
Re: Anyone found a 120v refrigerator replacement for the NDR-1492 Dometic? Reply #4 – July 28, 2012, 11:30:10 am I just recently lost the basement Norcold freezer and $250 of local beef. I can't complain too much. It has been running continuously since February of 2009. Quote Selected

I believe it had LED lighting, so it would be the 800 series model, first one on the page belowhttp://www.bosch-home.com/us/products/refrigerators/freestanding-refrigerators.html?filter=counter-depth~1170407&min=2199&max=2999These should all be the same basic fridge cabinet; the differences are mostly features.Michelle Quote Selected
Re: Anyone found a 120v refrigerator replacement for the NDR-1492 Dometic? Reply #6 – July 29, 2012, 01:18:32 am I installed a Bosch 20 cu ft counter depth side by side ( see my profile for model number and installation pictures) It works great, and is energy star rated, draws very little power for such a large unit!I started from a clean slate since I bought the coach after a refrigerator fire and everything in that area was GONE or charcoal.I built up a floor platform so I could raise the refrigerator and get it on top of the drain pipes that run behind it. I wanted to keep the fridge all the way against the rear wall so it would not stick out further than the counter top. I also wanted to keep the central vac underneath and have a place to store the vacuum hose. I ended up with a very narrow floor to ceiling cabinet next to the refrigerator that works great for access to the washer /dryer 220V power cord and the water hose connections. The closet is also good to hang a broom and mop in.The refrigerator fit through the front door ( my 95 320 has a narrow 24" door).I removed the refrigerator doors and EVERYTHING else I could take off to strip some weight, I also removed the coach door and the passenger seat. The coach, the refrigerator, and my wife and I took some wounds in getting it in, but it is do able.I would never install a RV propane unit in anything after seeing and repairing the damage a fire can do.
