Can't lower to level (was Re: Leveling coach when parked with RV EZ Level)

I am having HWH problems that I can't seem to correct.
I am on a gravel pad that is low in the rear, when I Autolevel, the system leaves the rear low and I cannot get the front air bags to deflate, if they would I would be exactly level, I have tried manually and I have also tried to dump air from the front buy system will not let me.  I feel like I am doing something wrong but can't figure it out, I have had this coach ten + years and have never had a problem before.

Gary,

The most likely (very common) culprit is a mud dauber deciding the exhaust ports for the front HWH manifold needed to be filled.

Using the appropriate safety equipment to block and chock the coach first, you'll need to get underneath to reach the manifolds and dig any dirt/debris/sand/mud out of the ports.

Gary, what happens if you set it to level and walk away for an hour or so? Seems like it should want to pump up the rear if the front won't lower.

I ahd that problem with my front end.  It was the regulator up front that was bad not the exhaust port.... I would check for both.

All, I crawled under the front and found the SIX PACK of solenoids but no sign of any kind of vent.
If I walk away and leave it for an hour the compressor will run but the rear will not raise and EVENTUALLY I get a EXCESS SLOPE indicator but that makes no sense as I still have four inches of down travel at the front bags.
I will check the regulator later today.
At this point this is annoying, not serious as I am near level enough that I can live with it but later this week we move to near Denver and I know that park is far from level.
Thanks
Gary B

The vents are on the side that the air lines are attached to.  They are in the area where there is extra space between  the lines.  The mud dauber may have done a very good job of smoothing his work so that the holes especially if they have some road grime on them are not noticeable.  They are about 3/8" in diameter, so you should be able to see them. Take a brush, cloth, etc and wipe off the dirt in the area where there is no air lines attached.

After trying to level the coach for a set amount of time (I think it is 30 minutes but not sure), if a yellow light remains on, the excess slope light comes on, so that function is working correctly.  It can not really tell that the bags have more travel left.  When the excess slope light is on the computer has turned off the 12v compressor so that it does not drain your house battery or burn up the motor on the compressor.

My vents are close to where the two pressure switches screw into the manifold.

Gary,

I'm not sure if the manifold looks the same on a '95 like it does on our '03, but here's a photo - it's not the side that the solenoids screw into, it's the other side like Jerry says

OK Guys, I did find the vents, they are are the sides of the block that the solenoids are on, One was plugged with mud dauber nest and other was clear.  I cleaned out both and still cannot deflate front bags.
Someone suggested that the air regulator could be at fault.  I bought one this AM at NAPA and will go back to CG to install it.

Gary,

I think the air regulator is used to control how fast the front goes up. Since the front is lighter than the back they control the air pressure in the front.
Since the right and left front dump solenoids are separate (they each have their own fuse)we are looking for something common like maybe the cable that goes from the touch pad to the computer.
Will any down button (front down, left or right down button or the dump button let air out of a bag?)
You car go under there and hold onto the dump solenoids ( the middle ones) and have someone get the system on and press the front down button to see if you feel the solenoids actuate. The dump (middle solenoids have to open to let air out of the airbags.
In the mean time if you are parked front high and back low you can turn on the key to get a green travel light and the ride height controll valve will let the front come down to travel height by letting air out through the travel solenoids ( the top ones) then maybe you can get closer to level.

Gary,

Glad you found the exhaust ports.  There could still be some mud dauber stuff in there if he went around the bend.  When ready to leave the campground it might be worth a try to fully inflate the bags and then deflate them.  If the valve opens the extra pressure might blow out debris that is left.  If the bags don't deflate with the lower button, the travel height valve should deflate them back to the proper height.  Like John Duld said check the cable on the back of the control panel.  Mine has come loose a couple of times, and I think the travel function still worked, but the level functions didn't.

Well, I Think its fixed, found a regulator at NAPA 80-725 and that seems to have helped considerably.  I am now level BUT the air bags are really extended and step is high.  For now I am going to leave well enough alone.
Thanks for all the help.
